A successful business is not built overnight but thanks to connectivity through the internet, building a multi billion dollar behemoth takes less than a decade. The purpose of this post is not to compare usability between the two sites but rather look at how Reddit grew its user base and how that applies to Steemit. Reddit and Steemit are similar websites, except Reddit went live in 2005 and now has over 250 million user accounts. 250 million users, how fantastic would that be for Steemit?!
The chart below shows Reddits user account growth history, let's compare it to Steemit currently.

You can see how adoption started off slow but eventually went parabolic. Reddit opened its doors on June 23, 2005 and by the end of 2006 had 700,000 user accounts. Steemit launched on July 4th 2016 and had 600,000 user accounts in the same time frame. So we can all relax knowing that Steemit is just as used as Reddit was in the first year and a half of existence.

2018 should be a big year for Steemit
but if we want to keep pace with Reddit we will need 4.1 million user accounts by the end of the year and 9.2 million a year after that.

G'day

Great comparison between Reddit and steemit. 250 million account will be too much for steemit in terms of market cap. But i think it is achievable. Thank you
