How Are You Celebrating Your Newfound SBD Wealth?
We are all enjoying the bounty of $10+ SBDs right now. I assumed this pump would only last a day or two, but here we are… it’s been what, five or six days now?
Earning a lot of unexpected money is something that puts me in the celebratory mood. If you live paycheck to paycheck then you probably feel the same way lol. Yesterday I cashed out 11.5 SBDs for around $130 USD… then I left it in my Coinbase account and it was worth $160 when I woke up!!

Two Ways to Celebrate Money
There are two ways to celebrate when you receive an unexpected influx of money.
(1) Spend Lots of Money
For some reason this is the standard human reaction for earning a lot of money. At least if you are wired like I am.
The younger version of me would be like this: If I am living paycheck to paycheck, and then I receive a $1,000 windfall from some awesome gig, $500 of it will be gone in the first week due to dumb spending. Coffee, food, weed, whatever, it’s so easy to spend money.
The most extreme version of this (which I don’t do, but I understand some other people do it) is to spend all that money in a night. Literally go to the bar and make it rain $1,000 for a night. That’s intense, like spending money is some kind of drug.
(2) Do Not Spend Lots of Money
This is my new chosen strategy.
When I earned $200 more than I expected in a ~2 day period from steem, I was amazed. I never thought I would see SBDs pump past $3.
At this point I took a look at my net worth.
That’s a negative $16,000+.
My celebration for the newfound SBD pump is simple: I’ll be making faster progress towards net worth zero. Gonna pay off more debt and be closer to my financial goal.
In the short term this isn’t as exciting. But if there is one thing I’ve learned as a freelancer: Sometimes you have overwhelming success, and then other times you have overwhelming failure. When times are good, it’s an opportunity to prepare for the bad days that inevitably lay ahead.

Yep i can imagine that!... And actually i dont see it like impossible, this is a increasing market and crazy things are going on, so nothing is impossible!... I think no one would complain around here LOL!

I've been converting mine into Steem Power each day as they roll in. (Pretty slowly at the moment. I've been distracted and not posting enough.) That's been my strategy all along, though, and now I'm rather wishing I'd let some SBD accumulate in "savings."
