Now I Can Drop TWO Dimes—Woohoo!

in #steem6 years ago

Happy Days Are Here Again...

Okay, stop the singing. It's a little premature to be celebrating the latest STEEM rocket ride, considering that STEEM has already fallen from a high around $3.50 down to $2.60 as of this moment.

However, $2.60 is better than $1.96, which was better than $1.56. And, while things did go down, we've been seeing some water treading for the last several hours on a lower volume trading. I'm no trader, nor do I play one on Steemit. I just like it when things show lateral movement for a while. I'd rather a steady rise than an incline, but that's better than a race to the bottom at lightspeed.

The coolest thing about this increase, aside from the healthier glow to our Steemit wallets (when the dang thing works), is voting values are up! Woohoo!

For the longest time, my best hovered between $0.11-$0.13, even though I had been investing and powering up. Just couldn't give it enough oomph! Curse you real world where fiat doesn't grow on trees! Or blockchains. :)

Now, as you can see, the vote value is currently at it's highest ever. I'm finally feeling like the quarter of a dolphin that I am (or double minnow, that works, too).

I am trying to spread it out as much as I can, though, while still leaving something when I upvote, so while it's a pretty significant jump over what it was just a couple of days ago, I'm not at a point where I will be unleashing too many $0.22 on anyone.

But when it happens, it will be EPIC!!!

(Okay, got a little carried away. I apologize for the capital letters and the triple exclamation points. Total breach of protocol, not to mention my own sense of grammar police.)

Post Values Should Be Rising, Too!

Yep. One of my posts that was hovering around $0.99 went up (though it might have also been aided by a couple more upvotes) to around $1.55, so that's cool. There's still a few days until payout, so no doubt the value will drop before that. The reward pool, if anything, is a big teaser.

Enjoy it while it lasts folks. As surely as things can go up, they also have the tendency to come down. What's left is the moment.

Congrats, my friend! It's a great feeling!

Yes it is. It's up to $0.23 at 100% voting power now. Ticked up again when the internal median price went up. Now if we could just convince everyone in the markets to treat this as the new floor and build up from here I'd be happy (or a very fast dip to about a $1 so I can buy more and then back to $2.60 within a 48 hour period or so would work, too. :)

Sounds good to me. I do hope this is the new floor. Man, you are ready to pounce on the dips! Good job.

Only if the dip is low enough, maybe. I'm not really authorized to spend more, but at a $1 who could resist? :) I'm actually hoping that we're done with the less than $2 STEEM myself. Unfortunately, as far as investing goes, it only gets harder from here, so that means figuring out how to keep collecting rewards here through my posting, commenting and curating. So, I really should invest more, but may just have to be happy with what I've put in.

Just wanted to give you a chance with this comment to try out your new voting power at full force 😂

Worth a try, right?

I gave Asher's post a "full force" vote. His post was a little longer than your comment. Relatively speaking, $0.03 is pretty generous, don't you think?.

Aren't you supposed to be be in bed? I mean, it's my turn to be awake. :)

It indeed was worth a try. But I doubt it that Ashers post was as funny as mine.
It probably wasn't a comment you were expecting on your post!
It almost 10 PM here, so we probably have an hour of 2 awake together :)

It might be a little premature to celebrate the rise in prices.
BUT.....
you have every right to celebrate and feel good about your voting power increasing.
I also feel good when mine goes up as it shows we are growing as part of the community and will be able to help shape it.

Good job and continue to power your steem up.

Thank you! Fun and entertaining post while offering real information on STEEM that I can understand. Gosh my wording is tragic but you get my point! Loads to learn and I will keep coming back here, not sure if there is an easy way to follow the posts you want to follow or not. I have been going into my list of those I follow and clicking on each one to see if anything new has been posted. Its a lot of work! Making decent comments is hard work too, but I like it!

When you first log on, it should take you directly to your feed, so you see everything that the people you follow have either posted themselves or resteemed. That way, you don't have to go onto their own blogs to see what they've done.

If you're not seeing that first list of your feed when you come in, then that's new and I don't know what's happening. But you're right, going to each one of their blogs would be a pain. :)

I'm glad my post was easy to understand. I like clarity myself, so when I'm able to achieve it, that's good.

Yes. Thank you. I guess I got confused seeing all kinds of posts in my feed that I did not follow. Did not know about the re-steem thing. The good news is I am finding lots and lots of great content to follow via these re-steemed posts! Please do continue your updates on Steem, I do find some posts on the subject with just too much info on a variety of coins, makes my head spin!

I try to vary what I write about, but I will keep that in mind. Have you been to the Steemit FAQ or etiquette pages? There is a wealth of information there about the ends and outs and inner workings of Steemit. If you do a Google search for either of those, you should find them in quick order.

Yeah, the resteeming is an issue for quite a few people here, especially if you follow a lot of folks. Some would like to filter out the resteems because they follow people for the content of their posts, not what they resteem. I find it's split. Some things I like, some things I don't.

If you want updates form the source, though, you should probably follow steemitblog. It doesn't happen nearly as frequently as I would like, or as detailed as I would like, but that's where the updates pertaining to development going on with Steemit and the blockchain generally show up. They've been doing a better job lately of communicating.
