No its nothing like gambling, It's more like magic the gathering - A collectable card game.
It costs nothing to play, you just need to buy the $10 starter pack that has like 30 cards to play. Then there are booster packs for $2 a piece.
Each day there is a challenge to complete in which you receive 5 more cards for free.
New cards are being added all the time!

There is also a market where you can buy/sell cards. I've made quite a bit of Steem playing the game, Its fun - and there are lots of players. I see good things in the future.
