Congrats for the post and a clear message to the community! Yes, the end of this year will be exciting in Steemitverse :)

I can see many advantages coming out of these changes. And some potential drawbacks. Steem price could go down a bit more if the quicker powering down will be abused. But, in the long run, I can see this hard fork as a sign of more stable and prospering times ahead.

And yes, I will mine steem on Linux. At least now we ordinary people will have a change of mining successfully :)
