GOOD CHANGES HAPPENING
Hi everyone @steem-ua has been in many posts lately and all for the right reasons. The changes that are coming will make it a busier and better place to grow ones account.
The other day we learnt about the reputation ranking having a make over as such. Currently we all know it isn't working very well and doesn't really mean anything. Someone could be on here for 6 months and could be out ranked by someone new using a bot to promote one or two posts. It is funny ,sad and demoralizing at the same time when you see a new user with an introduction post bot the hell out of it and has a higher ranking than your self after one day.
From my understanding the weight will be given to whoever is following you by the total number of vests. If you have a few whales or two then you are sitting rather pretty. Curation is going to play a part as well though so your ranking could be affected by how you respond to comments etc. The ones that don't I am sure will have to change their habits and be more social. A very good thing that is needed desperately.
Remember the Byteball air drop and how they used the ranking to calculate how many tokens everyone received. I am not sure how smt's are going to be distributed when they arrive after March but the new reputation system may be a fair way of doing it this time.
If you want to check your rankings you can go to the site and if you log in by using steem connect can look up your ranking.. https://steem-ua.com/
it will give you a good idea whether you have benefited or not by the proposed changes. If it hasn't then you will need to do something different to improve it. I just wish I could get some bigger accounts following me as that is out of our control to some degree.
The other good news is the large uptake of the smaller accounts who have delegated to this project. This will hopefully revive the growth of all these accounts and spur them on to become bigger fish.
I'm not really sure this is an improvement. It seems to me it just depends on how many whales you have following you rather than how much people have voted for you.
Maybe I'm biased because my ranking on UA around 49,000 while on Reputation it is around 29,000. However I haven't used bots to boost my reputation at all and post lots of quality content.
I think you will find that your ranking will change shortly. They are adding curation etc to it so the accounts that have large followers and don't comment will be penalised.

I don't really see why number and value of followers is a better metric than upvotes.
A follow is not an endorsement and happens once while votes are a constant measure of posting good content.
I see what you are saying but the issue lies in people paying for bots. Reputation ranking at the moment has no indication on the person using it. If and when smt's are launched it may happen against reputation and those with a ranking of less than 1 will lose out.
I’m aware of the problem of people boosting reputation using paid bots. However everything can be bought in this world and those people have had to invest in Steem in the first place to pay the bots. Votes are designed to have value in the system and be bought and sold. Follows are not and are much more easily gamed.

I have had my concerns about people paying for follows as well. The issue has been raised a few times and hopefully they will solve this.
The interesting thing is - why do they need me to log in with steemconnect to show my UA ranking?

Hi apsu. Never thought of that and we can't check each others either I don't think. Still not finished yet so maybe once it has all been passed will be accessed normally.

Not really. That is rather decent,still lots to do though. I have plenty to do as I am at 12286 but is moving in the right direction. My problem is I don't have too many large accounts following me.
