BUILDING AN ALLIANCE: Ambitious goal? Helping Venezuelan community WIN 20K DELEGATION

INTRODUCTION
The other day, a friend of mine introduced me to an amazing contest organized by witness @theycallmedan. The idea behind his initiative is simple but brilliant. Readers were asked to nominate a few projects on Steemit platform, which they believe deserve extra attention and support.
Every community project which will go through an initial selection (round 1) will receive 1000 SP delegation. Winner of the second round (starting today) will receive 20k SP delegation for the period od of 1 year.
HOW AMAZING IS THAT?
AM I BEING GREEDY OR NAIVE?

Many of you know me long enough to notice, that I engage a lot with people (mostly those sharing similar values and passion towards blockchain technology) and I upvote pretty much every valuable comment I'm reading. Having extra 20k delegation would surely help us all. This I'm pretty sure off.
But I still need to ask myself a few simple questions: am I not being too greedy? Would winning this contest be even a real possibility? Maybe. I hardly doubts so. Even with the current support I would probably end up as 2nd or 3rd, which would not benefit anyone. Neither me or anyone from our community.
So I came up with an idea. Please spare few minutes and continue reading :)
"REVOLUTIONARY" IDEA
 pic source | Perhaps what I came up with isn't really that "revolutionary" as I would like to think, but I figured out that ... instead of "fighting with other competitors" I could build an alliance with other Steemit community. One of those participating in the contest. One that I believe in and I want to support with all my heart . |

Alliance build on trust, which would serve one purpose: merging and growing both communites even more. So the idea is simple: Instead of asking my supporters for their votes, I would build a new healthy connection with either @SteemitBloggers or @SteemChurch and help one of them win.
After all: is there any better way of establishing a strong alliance by building trust between us?I strongly believe that by "giving up the fight" and investing my time to promote other projects I will prove my good will. I wonder if it even make sense for you guys?
I would really like to hear what you think about my approach, as it is constantly a learning process for all of us. Sharing your thoughts and feedback would help me greately to progress in the future.
BUILDING ALLIANCES WITH VENEZUELIAN COMMUNITIES
 | Initially, I contacted representatives of @steemitbloggers and offered them my support. Unfortunatelly I failed. My impression was that I didn't manage to gain their trust. I understand that the level of distrust in the crypto industry is very high so I cannot really blame them. Too bad. |

My second thought was to get familiar with the efforts and work being done by the amazing Venezuelian community @steemchurch. I received a very warm welcome and talking to their CEO was very refreshing and brought a smile on my face. @emiliocabrera is such a positive and encouraging person. Someone really worth knowing.
My vision and goals are quite simple and straight forward:
I see huge potential of using the Steemit platform to benefit a great amount of people in real life. I'm in touch with a group of over 40 Venezuelans already and introducing them to @steemchurch could potentially help some of them (after all it's locally strong community of Christians in Venezuela).
On the other hand I will gladly get to know members of their Venezuelian community who share similar passion towards blockchain technology, crypto, economy etc. And I will do my best to help them grow (let's take them under "our" wings).
(and please do not worry, I'm not trying to sell anything to anyone :)
WIN-WIN scenario for everyone involved. That's how I see it anyway :)

I'm by no means a religious person and I would NEED TO ASK EVERYONE to avoid religious comments under this post. I respect all minorities and religions out there, but my wish is to avoid this very sensitive topic. I hope everyone can understand and respect this.
Their founder and CEO are not very "tech savy" but seem to have great heart. So I believe that with my skills and knowledge this alliance can go really far.

It is such a pleasure to get to know you guys. I had a chance to "talk" to your founder @sirknight and CEO @emiliocabrera and Im full of hopes.
Regardless if we win those 20k delegation or not - I already feel very victorious. It's very difficult to build alliance without trust. And I think trust is already there between us. So I can only see great things happening for our communities in the future.

Hi @crypto.piotr, as an atheist person (Ironic having a god's nickname ) I won't support any initiative that will help to develop or promote a religious community here in the Steem blockchain, I tell you this with the confidence that you'll understand this message as a humble explanation to my actions and words.

I also thought on the same line that why should I nominate a religious organization? But in the end I thought it is for humanitarian cause and I decided to support it.

It's not so much about supporting religious organization. It's just a group of people from all over Venezuela, who are supporting each other and their driving force is CEO and also founder of @steemChurch.
My goal is to help them grow only so I could introduce several of my own Venezuelan friends to those people (so they can build some local contacts).
And as for me .... together with few other friends (all of us blockchain freaks) we will take under our wings those guys from their community, who have some decent english skills and knowledge about crypto and we will help them also grow on Steemit.
Of course I fully respect your decision, but if you could re-consider helping us (after reading my explanation) then I would be more than grateful.

You've been so supportive from the day I met you. Seriously if only all mexicans would be the way you are, I would pack myself even today and move to your country :)
I kind of used logic. I could spent next one week trying to win that delegation. But this is my last 6 days with my wife after which i wont see her almost for 3 months. So working hard would be stupid.
And what is the point of 'fighting' if you know that you cannot win?
Anyway building alliances is worth way more than 20k delegation. I chosed to believe that.
