I think the fact that Steemit could just slap on a DFP ad manager and start serving ads to makes money makes for a reasonable case for native ad rendering platform with various forms for adverisers

• Banner ads
• Text ads
• Sponsored posts
• Video ads

they would need to buy tokens to do the bidding and lock them into a smart contract. The sites/front ends that bring the traffic get a reward as well as the user whose post that made the connection.

Users would have to opt-in for ads and can remove them at any time. Im sure we can tweak it over time to make it suit us and not just be a cash grab
