Kmart at South Point Mall Tuggeranong, Canberra

I think when I say Kmart is my favorite store in Australia, you would think of Kmart Corporation as a department store chain and online retailer in the United States.

Maybe you are right, but when I first arrived in Australia back in 2011 and was in search of a store where I could find my required items in my budget because I calculated everything with Indian currency rates, they sounded at least 6 times costlier compared to back in India.

Then the big malls in Sydney had a closing time, as most of them were closed early in the evening, but Kmart was the only one that never closed, or at least the one close to my location in Parramatta, which was within walking distance, was open 24 hours.

I was glad all my locations where I lived during all these years remained open for the entire 24 hours and provided goods at the lowest rates. Initially, I didn't know that Kmart was an American store, but later I came to know that it started in Australia in 1969 in Victoria state with its first store in Burwood East.

 
I will not go into its history, but Kmart Australia is one of the major retailers with over 300 stores across Australia and New Zealand.

Let me give you another fact about Kmart, which is a joint venture between Coles and Kmart, so you can find a Coles store right beside the Kmart store in every place.

You can find anything for your bedroom.

I think if Kmart is a popular retailer in Australia, it's because most immigrants find its prices affordable, although you can see locals flocking to the Kmart stores as much as immigrants do.

You can find everything for your household needs.

By the way, Kmart is part of the Wesfarmers group, which also owns other major retail brands like Bunnings and Target.

You can buy anything for your kitchen.

For me, Kmart is one of the most affordable for its pricing and wide variety of products that are fun to visit and also for online shopping.

You find everything for kids.

 
I know both the elite group and the middle classes love Kmart, as it focuses on low prices and provides everything you need for your everyday living.

You find everything you need for your clothing requirements.

I visit other big stores, but when it comes to buying household items, I prefer Kmart because it makes my everyday living at an affordable price, providing quality and a wide range of products.

Incidentally, there are too few Kmart stores in Canberra, so I visit this store in Tuggernong, and I am glad there is an ATM where you can buy Bitcoin against cash just outside this store.
