Dansal

I spent the Vesak Poya Day sadly as I had no one to go to dansal or temple. I saw my friends going everywhere and eating from them. I felt so jealous sometimes. My father noticed my sorrow and came with me to go to dansal in the evening. But it was too late so that we only went to one place as all the others had been over then. I was so sad by that.

So on the Poson poya day, my father didn't wait until it was too late. He bought us earlier so that we could go to many. Just after we started our journey, we met one. They were giving coconut roti. In the next house, the people were giving plain tea. We had to wait in the queue for some time but they were really delicious. Specially, the onion sambol they gave to eat with roti.

After that we met two places distributing chick peas. In one place, a Kanda leaves were used to wrap chick peas and in the other one, they gave in a cup. In both places, chick peas were tempered in oil with coconut pieces, chili pieces and spices. They were really delicious that I wanted to go to that place again. I should make some at home in the weekends.

We were going to town, we suddenly stopped as we saw a lady giving ice creams to some small children. It was the beginning of another one. We were lucky enough to go there at the beginning so we need not to wait in queues.

After that, we drank soup from one place and then ate bread from the other place. After that we felt like it was enough.

Next, we went to the temple. It was getting dark when we went there. The temple was not crowded so I liked it. We spent about an hour there and came back home. This time I was so happy that the sadness in me went away.
