Steem Heights - I'll Be Back for #1 Tomorrow! 😤

Another day, another climb in Steem Heights.

When I logged in today, the first thing I wanted to check was the leaderboard.

After finishing in 1st place the other day, I was curious to see if I had managed to hold onto the top spot.

Unfortunately...

I had been pushed down to 2nd place.

And the worst part?

Only 2 meters separated us.

Current Leaderboard 👀

1. @rabiafaisal - 129m (16 Combos)
2. @iamheretoo - 127m (17 Combos)
3. @boishakhi123 - 119m (18 Combos)

Just a 2m difference.

That might not sound like much, but anyone who plays Steem Heights knows how difficult those extra meters can be to earn.

I knew I had to make another attempt.

First Few Runs

My first run started well.

The combos were flowing, but I made a mistake much earlier than expected.

Attempt #1

• 80m Total Altitude
• 10 Combos
• +20m Bonus

Not even close.

Time to try again.

The next attempt was even worse.

I accidentally pressed a button while adjusting the screen size, making the game window smaller and throwing off my timing completely.

Attempt #2

• 28m Total Altitude

A disaster. 😅

No choice but to keep climbing.

Attempt #3

• 97m Total Altitude

Better, but still far from what I needed.

Bringing Out The Secret Weapon ⚡

At this point I decided to spend some of the energy I had been saving.

I purchased a Wind Shield for 40 Energy.

The item prevents wind effects during a run, which sounded like it might give me the advantage I needed.

At least in theory.

Because in the end, Steem Heights still comes down to player skill.

So I activated the Wind Shield and started another run.

Attempt #4

• 73m Total Altitude

...Yeah.

The Wind Shield couldn't save me from myself. 😂

Not Today

Today just wasn't my day.

No matter what I tried, I couldn't find the run I needed to reclaim first place.

So for now, I'll have to settle for 2nd.

But the season is still young.

I'll be back tomorrow for another shot at the leaderboard.
