Piala Asia U-17: Slaughtering Yemen, Indonesia Reaches U-17 World Cup

The Indonesian U-17 National Team successfully defeated Yemen with a landslide score of 4-1 in the second match of the 2025 U-17 Asian Cup. With the victory over Yemen, Evandra Florasta and his colleagues secured tickets to the 2025 U-17 World Cup. The Indonesian National Team versus Yemen was presented in the second matchday of Group C of the U-17 Asian Cup which was held at the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium, Jeddah, on Monday (7/4/2025) evening West Indonesia Time. Garuda Muda led with a score of 2-0 until the first half ended. The two goals for the Indonesian National Team in the first half were scored by Muhamad Zahaby Gholy and Fadly Alberto.

In the second half, Yemen U-17 managed to score a goal and reduce the deficit through Mohammed Al Garash's penalty goal. Indonesia added two more goals through Evandra Florasta's brace to make it 4-1 until the match ended. The victory brought the Indonesian U-17 National Team firmly to the top of the Group C standings with 6 points. Nova Arianto's squad advanced to the quarterfinals and secured a ticket to the 2025 U-17 World Cup in Qatar. The match between Indonesia and Yemen was tight from the start of the first half.

The Indonesian national team managed to score a goal in the 9th minute through Mochamad Mierza after grabbing a pull pass from Evandra Florasta, but it was disallowed by the referee for offside. Yemen threatened the national team's goal in the 14th minute through Ali Daleeo's kick from a narrow angle but still wide of the Indonesian goal. Muhamad Zahaby Gholy scored the first goal for Indonesia in the 15th minute. The young Garuda doubled their lead in the 25th minute through Fadly Alberto. Trailing 0-2, Yemen continued to bombard Indonesia's defense.

However, Indonesia was able to maintain a 2-0 lead until the first half ended. Until Yemen scored a goal in the 50th minute through captain Mohammed Al Garash from the penalty spot after Putu Panji tackled Karem Abdulatif in the penalty box. Muhammad Al Garash, who stepped forward as the penalty taker, managed to beat the Indonesian goalkeeper, Dafa Al Gasemi and changed the score to 2-1. In the 85th minute, it was Indonesia's turn to get a penalty. Evandra Florasta who stepped forward as the penalty taker managed to carry out the task perfectly and brought Indonesia to a 3-1 lead. Evandra Florasta scored again in the 88th minute by grabbing the goalkeeper's rebound in the penalty box.
