The Aceh Party has dismissed its cadres from the Aceh-5 Electoral District, which includes North Aceh Regency and Lhokseumawe City. From the widely circulated letter, two figures were dismissed, although there is information that there were actually three cadres. Both are well-known figures, namely Muhammad Thaib alias Cek Mad and Anwar Sanusi alias Keuchik Wan.

In addition to being the Chairman of the Aceh Party in North Aceh, Cek Mad was also the regent of North Aceh for two terms. So, he has made many contributions to the party. It should also be remembered that Cek Mad's election as the regent of North Aceh for two terms cannot be separated from the Aceh Party as the supporting party.

Meanwhile, Keuchik Wan was also elected as a member of the North Aceh DPRK for two terms. This means that as a politician, Anwar Sanusi, who among other things served as Chairman of Commission A of the North Aceh DPRK, has contributed a lot thanks to advancing from the Aceh Party.

Although there has been no official statement from the Aceh Party regarding the reasons behind the dismissal of the two cadres other than what has been conveyed in the letter, the public and observers have linked it to the agenda of replacing the inter-bargain period or PAW of DPRA member candidates. The truth of this analysis must await the process even though it has been smelled in that direction.

In accordance with Article 426 Paragraph (1) of Law Number 7 of 2027 concerning General Elections, the replacement of elected candidates for members of the DPR, DPD, Provincial DPRD, and Regency/City DPRD, is carried out if the elected candidate in question dies, resigns, no longer meets the requirements to become a member of the council, or is proven to have committed an election crime in the form of money politics or document falsification based on a court decision that has permanent legal force.

Furthermore, the PAW process is technically regulated in the General Election Commission (KPU) Regulation Number 6 of 2019 concerning Amendments to the General Election Commission Regulation Number 6/2017 concerning the Inter-Breaking of Members of the People's Representative Council, Regional Representative Council, Provincial People's Representative Council, and Regency/City People's Representative Council.

The Aceh Province Independent Election Commission (KIP) and the Aceh Province Bawaslu have not yet spoken out regarding this dismissal, which is indeed not the organizer's domain. The interim replacement process is indeed the authority of political parties and the KIP carries out the replacement stages. Meanwhile, Bawaslu or Panwaslih ensures that the process is in accordance with existing regulations.

All parties, starting from political parties and organizers, must continue to comply with the rules of the game regarding the inauguration and interim replacement of elected candidates to replace candidates who are running as regional heads. When one party ignores the rules, there will definitely be dissatisfaction and reactions from other parties, both from the organizers and internal political parties who feel disadvantaged.

This was immediately seen when a number of Aceh Party supporters protested and rejected the dismissal at the North Aceh DPW, Wednesday (9/4/2025). This action will actually harm the political party internally because it has the potential to make the party not solid and cause friction within the political party.

So, returning to the rules of the game is the key as a form of respect for regulations and maintaining harmony.[]
