Greetings, this week was another interesting week given the fact that the season 5 engagement challenge started. I had set targets to at least participate in some of the challenges and also encourage my fellow country steemitians to participate in the challenge.

Apart from the challenge, I had other commitments on the platform such as curation, guiding steemitians, creating content, and promoting steemit content on Twitter. Below, I will explain in detail my activities for the week.

Activities in the Steem-Cameroon Community As MOD.

During this period, I was active in curating, reviewing, and guiding steemitians on the platform. I used the community curating account to curate quality articles on the community from different users.

This week, we recorded an improvement in the number of content posted in the community as compared to last week. However, during reviewing the posts, I came across plagiarised content. It has been a long while and we thought we have succeeded to fight plagiarism in the community.

I had to call the attention of other admins and MODs to be more vigilant during curation to sort out plagiarists. The user was issued a warning and a warning tag on his username. If this continues for the 3rd time, the user will be banned from posting in the steem-cameroon community.

On Friday which was my official working day in the community, I had to select 8 posts and recommended them for booming support.

Promotion Activities.

For now, Twitter is the only social media platform where I do promotional activities. I believed that this is one of the best places to promote steemit.

I used this 👉🏽👉🏽 https://twitter.com/steem_cameroon as a medium to promote steemit by sharing different users' content on the platform. I equally used my personal Twitter account to share some of my articles and retweet content from the steemit team Twitter page.

The Twitter account has not yet had many followers, but we are positive that with time, it will be yielding good results.

I also did offline promotion activities through face-to-face chats with some of my friends convincing them to join steemit. Though they gave excuses for not having time to blog, I will not give up but continue to encourage them.

Curation with Steemcurator08 Account.

This was another great experience this week of curation with the SC08 account. I had to strictly follow the curation guidelines before curating. The posts I curated were from different communities and different authors.

Posts curated were effectively following either club5050, club75, or Club100. Different percentages of votes were given based on users club status. For instance, those respecting club5050, and also setting 25% to null account, got 30% upvotes from SC08 and those without setting 25 to null account got 25% votes. This also applied to those following club75 and club100 though with different percentages.

I used the SC08 account and supported a total of 29 articles, and upvoted 6 comments, from 16 different communities, and 10 different countries. I filled the google sheet online for effective reporting.

Curation and Creating Content with my Account.

Regarding curation with my account, I effectively curated an average of about 160 articles across about 90 accounts. Curation was done daily and those who created quality content received upvotes from my account.

I participated in the engagement challenge this week. I created 3 articles in Scouts y sus amigos, Steem for BetterLife, and Hot News communities.

I created 4 diary game entries and a guiding post on plagiarism, calling users' attention to plagiarism.

Guiding Newbies.

The quality of content created by newbies is poor and needs guidance. This is one of the most challenging tasks as most newcomers are adamant to change.

Within this week, I commented on several users' content, guiding them on the use of markdown, and correct use of tags, and recommended the use of Grammarly.com to check on grammatical errors and punctuation mistakes. Surprisingly, these users do not even respond to the comment and continue committing the same errors.

However, some other users consider the comments and are gradually improving the quality of their content.

Future Plans.

  • Make use of my effective SP and support content creators and those respecting burnsteem25.
  • Continue with my promotional activities via Twitter.
  • Continue to guide steemitians on creating quality content, and follow at least club5050.
  • Maintain 100 % power up of my posts and encourage my fellow community members to follow suit.

Kind regards.
