Greetings! Friends of Steemit and Steem of Animals

In India particularly in urban settings the stray dogs and cats are real threat to human being. As the immunization and neutering policy of government is totally unfeasible, the dog mediated rabies is spreading hyperbolically. Death related to dog bites is also noticeably high.

The expenses of dog immunization is so high to harness multi-stakeholder engagement to sustain commitment and resources.

So far we have not seen neighter government nor any multi- stake holder have taken any mass stray dog immunization program in Kolkata municipal corporation areas. Government vacation rate is far below the coverage of 70% of dogs as recommended by World Health Organisation as per global strategic plan to eliminate death from dog mediated rabies by 2030.

I can't understand why such a loyal, faithfull, and protective animal is so neglected.

It's hardly seen someone takes full responsibility of stray dogs with food, shelter and toilet facilities. They usually litter all places of residential streets with poo which is also intolerable by many.

Though the dogs are accustomed to the extreme heat in summer but it is very difficult to manage recent high humidity and soaring temperature by them. It is already in some parts of India temperature has become more than 50°C. Though foreign breed are provided airconditioner but what will happen to this stray dogs in the summer.

One interesting Kolkata Police officer rescued few dogs from a government hospital where rest of their counterparts were burnt alive due to death of a person by the dog bite.

When the Police officer was transferred to another police station he shifted them with him. He used to cook food for them every day.

This is a rarest of rare incident.
