Playing the steemit memory game: Celebrating the magnificent world of Landmarks|Eiffel Tower
While the time is ticking, two images have to be matched to reveal the content. So by pairing the images the boxes will remain opened, whereby at the end, the total moves and timing will determine how fast and perfect one was able to locate and do the pairing of same contents.
In my first attempt, the scoring was not impressive at 1115 with 58 moves and ranked 63rd. I tried again and got 1514 with 24 moves and ranked 23rd. Other attempts were lower in scores.

The Eiffel Tower in Paris
The Eiffel Tower in France is locally nicknamed "La dame de fer" (French for "Iron Lady"), This structure was constructed as the centre-piece of the 1889 World's Fair, and to crown the 100 years (centennial anniversary) of the French Revolution.
Although the edifice was initially criticised by some of France's leading artists and intellectuals for its design, since then, it has become a global cultural icon of France and one of the most recognisable structures in the world. The tower was visited by about 5,889,000 tourists in the year 2022. It is ranked Eiffel the most visited monument with an entrance fee in the world. About 6.91 million people ascended it in year 2015. Eiffel Tower was designated a monument historique in 1964, and was subsequently named part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site ("Paris, Banks of the Seine") in 1991.
Height of the Monument
The Eiffel tower is 330 metres (i.e 1,083 ft) tall, which is about the same height as an 81-storey building, and it is the tallest structure in Paris, France. It has a square base, measuring 125 metres (i.e 410 ft) on each side. During its construction, the Tower surpassed the Washington Monument to become by far the tallest structure made by human in the world. This title, it held for 41 years until the Chrysler Building in New York City was completed in 1930.
Eiffel Tower was the first structure in the world to surpass both the 200 meters and 300 meters mark in height. Due to the addition of a broadcasting aerial antenna at the top of the tower in 1957, it is now taller than the Chrysler Building in New York by 5.2 metres (i.e 17 ft). Therefore excluding transmitters, the Eiffel Tower is the second tallest free-standing structure in France after the Millau Viaduct.
Some features
The tower has three levels to tour by visitors, with restaurants on the first and second levels. The top level's upper platform is 276 m (i.e 906 ft) above the ground—the highest public observation deck in the European Union. Visitors can purchase tickets to ascend by stairs or lift to the first and second levels.
- The ascend from ground level to the first level is over 300 steps, as is the climb from the first level to the second, making the entire ascent a 600-step climb.
- Although there is a staircase to climb to the top level, it is usually accessible only by lift.
- On this top, third level, is located a private apartment built for Gustave Eiffel, the man who decorated it with furniture made by Jean Lachaise and invited friends such as Thomas Edison is mentioned.
Though, I have never visited the monument, a friend who played football for Lille in France, described to me how magnificent the structure is, and I am hoping to visit it in the near future.
My invitation goes to @ruthjoe, @nspidoz and @kwinberry to participate in the contest.
