How it is made❤️

Simple intro

This craft shoe making,is a highly skillful profession that requires you to pay utmost attention to every step you take on creating a new product so that it comes out perfect. It's Worthy to note that in shoe making, finishing matters. If you like,use the best materials for your work,if the finishing is not that ok,then you didn't pay attention while learning or it's just your thing.
Below I a have a step by step procedure on how I made a simple ladies slippers.

Step one

At this stage, the material I am using for my upper is not to be sewn. So all I have to do is to cut it according to the pattern I want.

Step two

After cutting my upper,I applied gum to the sides so to enable me put stripes to cover the sides also to give it another look.

Step three

Since I don't want my upper to look plain,I needed to add something unique to it.so I cut another stripe which I will use for fancy. Fancy in shoe making is anything that is placed on top of your upper to give it style either by sewing it together with your upper or fastening it with a pin to your upper.

Step four.

After fixing the stripe with the fancy, I had to apply gum on my upper before placing the fancy because I didn't want to sew the fancy together with the upper,the gum would hold it as I don't want any line to show between.

Step five.

Now my upper is ready, going over to the sole, this is an already made sole. All I needed to do was to cut something that looks exactly like it either I use a marking sole or I use fibre, then cover it with any material of my choice. For me,I used an animal skin material but in shoe making,we call it (plastic) This marking sole or fibre happens to be where you will last your upper to before you gum it together with the sole.

Step six

The next thing is to last your work, first I applied gum to the edges of my upper and marking sole for easy lasting,then I placed my last on top of the marking sole that is covered with animal skin material. After that, I placed the upper on top of the last with the help of my pinches,I dragged both edges one at a time to the sole.

Step seven

Now am done lasting, the next step is to apply chemical for coupling, I applied chemical on the lasted upper and sole then again I also applied chemical on the sole not marking sole. There's difference between marking sole and sole. After that,I leave them to dry for about two hours. After the two hours,I coupled it together.
