Errors in video game covers
Currently the digital era in video games has changed many things, the main one is the absence of physical material, which is slowly disappearing, although there are still companies that launch games in this format sometimes launch content which is exclusively digital.
Before the digital era, companies had to be very careful when printing the presentations of their games. If for any reason there was a mistake, it would be very complicated to change thousands or millions of them, in addition to presenting losses not so significant for the distribution company.
However, there were certain video games that had particular errors in their covers, from spelling, which is usually the most common, to images. Below, I will show you some curious errors in covers that have come out in the video game industry.
Batman – Sega Genesis
This title was released in 1990 and is considered a beloved video game for fans of the saga. It was also an improvement on the 1989 version of the NES, offering a better visual experience for the player.
But in its cover it had a mistake that can be considered fatal at the moment, in the back where generally are the images of the game, the 2 that are observed indeed belonged to the game of Batman, but of the version of 8 Bits.
Silent Hill: Downpour – PS3 / Xbox 360
One of the video games that ended up burying the Silent Hill franchise, despite this detail and separating it from its predecessors, is not a bad video game. I'm trying to incorporate new aspects to the franchise, for example, going back to the roots of psychoterror.
This video game on the back of its cover had a spelling error (Spanish version) in one of the words that most represents the game, specifically in the word "Luvia", obviously they were missing a letter to form the word "Lluvia".
Okami – Wii
We continue with one of the most acclaimed games due to its graphic art, but this time we will cover the version for Nintendo Wii which has something very curious in its cover that the most detailed people observed when they had it in their hands.
For some reason, the people who designed this cover looked for any image on the Internet and placed it as the main cover. This can be concluded because the IGN logo can be seen on the cover as a watermark.
Resident Evil: Revelation – 3DS
One of the video games that tried in a certain way to rescue the essence of the Resident Evil saga which came out for one of Nintendo's handheld systems, but, later we would see it in different platforms, however, in its first version we would see a very curious error in its cover.
In the part where the name of the case is identified we will find a little strange change in the word Revelation, I will let you discover the error through the following image.
Sometimes it's hard to believe how companies somehow skip the quality controls and release these covers with some mistakes, however, it's interesting to have these games in our hands and see how a company with such a reputation can go wrong.
Do you know of any other video game cover with an error on it? Let me know what you think in the comments section.
