  1. What is bargaining in business

Bargaining in business just mean when two people or groups sit and talk about price or deal until both feel okay. It’s kind of like a game where seller want more money but buyer want to save some. Sometimes they argue little, sometimes just smile and talk soft. Business bargaining is like meeting halfway, nobody get all they want but both happy enough. In many shops or open market it’s normal, you don’t just accept first price because it usually higher than true cost.


  1. Are you a good bargainer? What tactics do you normally use?

Honestly I don’t think I’m super great but not too bad either. I try not to look desperate because if seller see that, price go up fast. Sometimes I act like I will leave and check other stalls, that usually make them reduce a bit. Another trick I do is asking very simple, “Can you make it lower?” and just stay quiet after, silence works magic sometime. I try also to smile because angry face not help. I don’t like to push too much cause then seller annoyed, so I keep it light.


  1. Are you of the opinion that all goods should be under bargain or under a fixed price? Explain.

Not everything need bargain in my eyes. Like food in supermarkets, medicine, bus ticket, that one better fixed, saves time, no arguments. But clothes in street market, furniture, sometimes electronics or handmade items, I think bargaining belong there. If every single thing bargain, life be slow and stressful. But if everything fixed, then some sellers overcharge. So maybe mix of both is best, depend on the type of good.


  1. Have you fallen victim of buying things higher due to not knowing how to bargain?

Yeah many times actually. I remember once I bought shoes at market, later my friend said he got same pair half the price. I felt bad, like I wasted money. At that time I was shy to ask or maybe didn’t know true value. After that I start practicing small bargain even if little bit, so at least I don’t overpay crazy. Still sometimes I fail, but every mistake is like small lesson. Bargaining not only about money, it teach patience and confidence too.
