A Joyful and Busy Friday Before Ramadan

Friday is the most beautiful day for me. Although I like other days too, Friday feels extra special, and I feel a lot of joy. As soon as I wake up, I freshen up and head to the kitchen. Since it's Friday, my mom has a day off and is at home. My mom and I prepare breakfast together. Today, we had roti, fried potatoes, and fried eggs for breakfast. After finishing breakfast, we rested for a while. For lunch, we planned to cook desi chicken. So, after some rest, I prepared all the ingredients for cooking. My mom cooked the chicken while I helped her. Additionally, shrimp was cooked with onions. I love both shrimp and desi chicken. Once lunch was ready, I did some chores in my room and then took a shower. My husband was getting ready to go for the Jummah prayer, so I prepared his clothes and other essentials. I also got ready for my prayers. After everyone finished praying, our family sat together for lunch. This is one of the most joyful parts of Friday—having lunch and dinner together with the entire family. It truly brings peace to the heart.

Since Ramadan is starting in just a day, we needed to do some grocery shopping. I made a list of things we needed with my mom. After making the list, we took a short nap in the afternoon. By the time we woke up, it was almost evening. We freshened up quickly and got ready. My husband also got ready, and then we left the house for the market. First, we took an auto-rickshaw to Chashara. Our first stop was the Shwapno Super Shop outlet. Today, it was extremely crowded. After entering, we went straight to the upper floor since it was relatively less crowded than the ground floor. The first thing we purchased was a face wash.

Then, we searched for other essential items. We usually buy our necessary products from this Shwapno outlet. I looked for several essential items and bought a body soap. I also checked out the Odonil toilet freshener, but since I didn’t find my preferred fragrance, I didn’t purchase it. After finishing our shopping, we went downstairs.

Due to the heavy crowd, it took some time to make the payment. My husband maintained the queue and paid the bill. Once the payment was done, we exited the Shwapno Super Shop.

Next, we went to buy some fruits. Our first stop was a familiar shop where we always buy dates. We purchased one kilogram of dates from there. Then, we went to a guava shop and bought one kilogram of good-quality guavas. After that, we visited another fruit shop, where we bought one kilogram of apples and some grapes.

	In Sheikh Rasel Park

After walking around and shopping for a long time, we felt a bit exhausted. So, we decided to take a short break at our favorite Sheikh Russell Park. There, we ordered two ice creams and sat down to enjoy them. We love this place and often come here to spend some time. Today, the park was extremely crowded. We also visited a wallet shop and checked out several wallets, but we didn’t find one we liked, so we didn’t buy any. After spending some time in the park, we left for more shopping.

Next, we went to our regular grocery store and handed over our shopping list. The shopkeepers gathered everything according to the list. From there, we purchased chickpeas, semai (vermicelli), detergent powder, spices, raisins, gram flour, baking powder, and other essentials. After making the payment, we left the store. Then, we went to the vegetable market, where we bought betel leaves and lemons for my mom, along with some fresh vegetables. Finally, we headed home.
