We have an air conditioner that runs on 220 volts. We have never had an ir that runs on 110 volts. Apart from the fact that these devices are more expensive, they consume twice as much electrical energy. You can imagine what it means to buy it and have it working. It is a necessary expense. My son and I were slowly cooking.
But can both run on the electricity network?
Yes friend. Here we have two types of current. One of 110 volts and another of 220 volts. These two currents reach all houses simultaneously.
But what happened? When the electric power transformer exploded on the public road, the electricity workers, instead of bringing another transformer, what they did was cut off our 220 volt power supply. This is the current for home air conditioners.
They left us with only what is known as a single phase: 110 volts.
Another air conditioning unit that works with this voltage should have been purchased. This equipment is more expensive and in addition, the electricity bill now costs double the ordinary or common value.
The other air conditioning unit that operates with 220 voltage current is now uninstalled and stored. Someday those in charge of public electricity will once again install a transformer that works with both currents. Then we will change the equipment again, because it is cheaper to use.
