Bangladesh Folk Art and Crafts Foundation Sonargoan Narayanganj
Steemian Friends,
Today, I am here to share with you the famous Bangladesh Folk Art and Crafts Foundation in Narayanganj. Through the Steem-atlas map organized by honorable Moderator @solaymann sir, I hope everyone will like my post.
Bangladesh is the cradle of ancient, glorious, and diverse culture. The Bangladesh Folk Art and Crafts Foundation was established through the tireless efforts of Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin to bring the country's traditional artifacts to the public. On March 12, 1975, with the support of the government, it is located in Sonargaon, Narayanganj, 24 kilometers from Dhaka.

In 1981, it was shifted to the open courtyard of a large landlord's house with an area of 150 bighas. Currently, the “boro jomidar bari” house has also become a part of the Folk and Crafts Museum.
The Folk and Crafts Museum is also known as the Sonargaon Museum and This Folk and Crafts Museum can be easily reached from any part of the country. The Museum, established on the main road, introduces us to the familiar form of ancient Bengali.
Before entering the museum, there is a huge building of a “boro jamidar bari” house. The royal landlord's house, built in a combination of red and white, has been standing with its glory for hundreds of years.

There is a huge lake in front of the landlord's house. The water of the lake is sparkling. The landlord's house is on one side of the lake and the beautiful seating arrangement on the other three sides. The entire area is adorned with a beautiful collection of banyan trees that make the entire area magnificent.
After enjoying the beauty of the landlord's house, if you go a little further, you will see the traditional bullock cart of ancient Bengal. This cart was once one of the main vehicles for bringing goods. Not only that, the role of bullock carts in everything, starting from plowing, was undeniable.

If you go a little further, you will see a red-painted building, which is the Folk Art and Crafts Foundation. In front of the foundation or museum, there is a statue of Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin, and the museum was established due to the tireless efforts of this famous person.

The museum has three floors, and each floor presents the rural heritage of Bangladesh. There are some famous paintings by Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin, scenes of rural people making handicrafts, life pictures of the country's blacksmiths and potters, aesthetic works of art, impossibly beautiful Nakshi design furniture, and traditional Nakshi Katha, in which the culture of the country was once depicted. One has to be truly fascinated by the scene depicting the entire map of Bangladesh through Nakshi Katha.
