RE: Should We All Be involved In Power Down?
It would be interesting to know what people would think about having more centrally controlled communities.
The resource load would be very high, and the problem would be finding enough suitable people to manage all the communities.
It has been difficult to find enough people to be good Crypto Professors.
Trying to replicate that process for multiple communities would be close to impossible.
We also really want to see the community as a whole take the initiative and run projects for themselves rather than always relying on Steemit.
I will like to have a say here. Community is an integral part of steemit. Users are identified and verified via communities and they help fish out farming accounts. If it will be difficult for the steemit team to create communities and manage them through some trusted users, I suggest that the existing communities or the ones yet to be established be given a rule to set percentage to a particular account that will only be managed by designated users who will be appointed by the steemit team such that when the founders of the community power down, that account will remain for the contributors of those communities. So long as the founders of communities are the ones managing the community account, it is not possible to control the power down of the communities neither can you hold them to ransom for any cash out.
Then those communities should be treated alike who followed all rules by the steemit team. Building a Community is not n easy task.
Truly, finding suitable people to handle this role as in the case of the crypto academy will be very difficult. I now understand better why the team can not do much about other community management.
From the above, i believe a lot of people will buy the idea because it will be quite transparent, free and fair. No one will have to power down the entire labour of the users for himself alone. It would be in such a way that the resource will be use solely to support all those posting in the community. A certain % can be set optionally to help grow the community account.
Hello, just passing by,
Remember that Steemit Inc is not alone here in this big ocean, you have a solid team of witnesses who are skilled people too.
What if some witnesses get started new solid communities? For example, everyone knows @steemchiller and their amazing job, we could invite him to think about creating a new community that you could support with more trust and he can recruit a new team similar to what Comunidad Latina is doing.
This way @steemchiller could support us frequently and you can have more stronger communities with solid SP and protected by well known persons.
Of course mentioning chiller is just an example, you could invite the witnesses you want to run community based projects 😊
