The Diary game: How I spent my Saturday (7/6/2025)

in Steem Cameroon3 months ago

Hi dearest members of Steem Cameroon, it's another opportunity to share my day with you. As a school teacher, one of the days I look forward to is the weekend, due to the business of school days. So let's see how my Saturday went.

I woke up a little bit late, at about 6am unlike the school days I wake up as early as 5am. Since I belong to the sanitation department in my church, Saturdays are the days we go to clean the church. So I refreshed by washing my face and brushing my teeth. Then I went to church to sweep and mop. I finished from the church some minutes to 9 to start another round of cleaning up and washing at home.

There wasn't much rope available for hanging clothes cos Saturdays are days everyone wash, so I had to reduce the clothes I washed so as to see place to dry. After washing, I had my bath and took my breakfast of bread and tea.

After my laundry, I refreshed before taking breakfast, then rested fur the moment.

In the afternoon, I ate rice that had been cooked the night before as lunch, then I decided to start preparing things for cooking. First of all, I had to prepare the ice fish that was bought, so I cut it and remove all the unwanted things and seasoned the fish. I also cut okra to be used for soup.

After I had finished everything at about 5pm and rested, I decided to do something different in the evening and in my spare time. I read Chinua Achebe's 'No longer at Ease'. This is a story about obi who was intelligent, the only son of his father abd his community contributed money to send him to the university Abroad, but when he came back and started working, he took a bribe. I was about to read chapter 8. So far, the book taught about how training and disciplining a child was a community act in those days unlike these days.

Learnt about the Igbo tradition systems and the African beliefs.

When I got tired of reading, cos the saying goes, all reading and no play makes @Destined a full girl, I decided to play my favourite game, scrabble on my phone. And fortunately, tho it's once in a while thing, I won the computer or droid.

I finally slept at about 10pm because I had to wake up early the next day to prepare for church.
