My Review of a steem wallet mobile DApp (Decentralized application) , Steemwallet (Secure/Fast Wallet for Steem Blockchain) for the task #15 by @oracle-d.tasks and @dapplovers. Task details here.

General Introduction

When ever we hear of the the word Wallet, just one thing comes into our mind which is keeping your money safe no matter the state. Safe-guiding money no matter the amount in a secure place matter so much. Technology now brings us to the world of digital money which then led to the introduction of digital wallets. Payments and money transfers are now made easy through digital wallets that hold cryptocurrencies through blockchains. This form of money came into existence in the year 2008 and since then bitcoin (the first cryptocurrency ) has brought a lot more easy and secure financial services. Their wallets interface with various blockchians and allow money transactions to be carried out among them.

Before now, the best place where money transactions (payments, exchanges, loans, etc) were done was in a bank. Various charges were incurred which were to an extend discouraging. The introduction of digital funds brought digital wallets one of which is an open source mobile wallet DApp, Steemwallet. This system being more fast and secure than what I will call the traditional banking system has brought so many advantages in that it is fast, secure, simple, user friendly, and most importantly it requires a lesser fees for its transactions. Here, a wallet serves as a bank.

What is Steemwallet?

Steemwallet is a steem blockchain mobile wallet used for fast and secure digital money transactions by users of the steem blockchain. It is an opensource single-currency mobile wallet with a github repository that was last updated on December 18, 2018. This app was developed by Roelando in December 18, 2018 with Creative commons 4.0 holding its software licence. It is currently ranked 464th based on state of DApps rankings with no usage information for now and it has of-course been classified under the wallet category.

Steemwallet is a fast and secure and easy to use DApp, having both andriod and IOS versions available for download. Used only by users of the steem blockchain, it allows easy steem cryptocurrency transactions among them using their mobile phones. With Steemwallet, a user on the steem blockchain has the possibilities to;

• Monitor multiple steem accounts
• Send and sign transactions with biometry support
• Receive just by showing a QR code

With almost the same infrastructure as the steem blockchain, Steemwallet has and advanced standard encryption making it as safe as you can imagine. This high encryption level enables it perform multiple operations which are simple, convenient and secure (the foundation on which Steemwallet is built).

Getting started with Steemwallet

On theSteemwallet official website, you can download the android or IOS version of Steemwallet. When you click on either link, you will be redirected to google play or app store where you will download the app for you mobile device.

Open the app after installation and you will be taken to its home page

Go ahead and click on the add account button

You will then be requested to enter your account name

It will then show the account balance and transaction history of your account including two options to send and to receive, as seen below.

Click on the send button to send steem, you will be requested of your active key to authorise the transaction.

To receive steem, click on the receive button. The user's unique wallet address and barcode will be shown clearly.

There is also the setting page where you will be able to configure the wallet to your taste

General conclusion

Steemwallet enables wallet transactions on steem to be fast and secure and so it is what most users will prefare to use. However, it lacks a way to promote and reward its users. This when added will increase user anxiety.

Steemwallet is easy to access, offers security and easy to use. Other functionalities like the ability for users to take a loan the wallet will increase its usage.

This wallet DApp is fast, support multiple account and has QR features, and user friendly however, the app's interface is so scanty with no social media connections or help page that a user will easily run into if a problem is encountered.

I will say, the Steemwallet enables users of the steem blockchain to send and receive money, monitor secure transactions. It is very stable and easy to use, keeping track of your transactions. This one of the best initiative created on the steem blockchain. So I am giving it 4/5 star rating.
