WASHINGTON POST: Two black men were arrested at Starbucks. Now the company and police are on the defensive.

This morning, the Washington Post online is reporting that "a [Starbucks] store manager had asked the two men to leave after they attempted to use the bathroom but had not made any purchases, police said."

The article goes on to say, "The two men were taken to a police station, where they were fingerprinted and photographed, their attorney Lauren Wimmer told The Washington Post on Saturday."

It's hard to believe this kind of thing would happen today, but there is a video on the Post's website you can watch, taken by Melissa DePino, who "told Philadelphia magazine the men did not escalate the situation."

It's also reported that Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson says, “I hope to meet personally with the two men who were arrested to offer a face-to-face apology.”

An apology is a good start, but If I was one of the men arrested and fingerprinted, I would expect some serious compensation!
