The Message From Red

It's been a while
But I think I felt it again
It was a confusing feeling
One I had forgotten long about
My armored walls held them back long enough

But those eyes
Those rose red eyes
Those rose red eyes with drops of linen white..
Those rose red eyes with drops of linen white that stared deep down into my soul.
There was nothing that could stop them, not even my ultimate armored walls

Those eyes had a message
Only one message
A message clear as an empty sky
On a dark November night

You are going to be alone.
You are going to bleed
You can't stop the bleeding
You can't stop the ache

The message said its name was pain
It was back for me.
It reminded me of all I had lost
And told me I had lost one more
One more priceless orb.
And it concluded with a whisper
_{Emptiness is all you'll know now}

Fear, sadness, pain, blindness
All felt in a flash,
Just like her, just like those eyes
Gone in a flash, gone into the night

My life right now
Longer days and empty nights
Fading like the final beats of a beaten drum

The message didn't lie.
