Due to the his inability to displace first team players and earn himself a starting berth, he was loaned out to Hoffenheim for the 2017/2018 season.

In what a successful spell for him, he recorded double figures in terms of goals for two consecutive seasons to prove to the Bayern management his worth.

He was recalled back to the team this term and since hit the ground running, netting 8 times already in 26 games across all competitions for the Bavarian.

The club's Sporting Director Hasan Salihamidzic has praised Gnabry as one of the young guns of the club and one for the future which Bayern are glad to have committed.
