Re: FPL GW 3 Analysis | Part 1 | Aguero Blanks, Red for Richarlison

in #sprtshub6 years ago

After 2 cracking GW, this game week started pretty slow with neither of goal galore nor any clean sheet fest. Most of the FPL favorites blanked on Saturday where only 14 goals were scored with 3 clean sheets. Half a million managers acquired service of Aguero and 22.2% of FPL managers trusted him as their captain but he failed. But more miserable were the 0.7 million managers who got Evertons Richarlison who ended with the red card in the first half.

## Wolves vs Manchester City
>Goals: Boly / Laporte
Assists: Moutinho / Gündogan

The poor away form continued for Aguero after hattrick at home last game week. Aguero hasnt scored at away matches since December 13th, 2017. He had a good game but unlucky not to score which include hitting a crossbar. ManCity were unlucky not to get the penalty for a foul against Silva which Aguero would have taken. But on a positive note, the next two fixtures are at home against Newcastle and Fulham and an opportunity for the big returns.

In a match where Gundogan and Bernado Silva started ahead of Mahrez and Sane, the cheapest route to City attack, Gundogan finally got a return assisting Laporte. Gundogan at 5.5 million has started all the matches for City till now along with Bernado Silva. Laporte is looking dangerous from the dead ball and he is rotation free. He comes at 5.5 million and can be alternative to Mendy. But Mendy continued to impress as he collected 2 bonus points without a clean sheet or being on a score sheet.

For Wolves, Willy Boly was impressive on both ends making some crucial tackles and scoring the goals. Patricio too made series of saves to stop Citys attack. But the player to watch out for is Ryan Bennett at 4 million who could be a bargain as Wolves has decent fixtures coming up.

## Arsenal 3 - 1 West Ham
>Goal Scored: Monreal, Welbeck, Diop (OG) / Arnau
Assist: Bellerín, Iwobi, Lacazette /Felipe Anderson

Arsenal finally got a victory while West Ham is pointless till date. But there was no joy for 16% managers favoring 11 million Arsenal forward Aubameyang including me. The managers got 2 penalty box touches, 3 shots and 75 minutes for their 11 million, not a well spend. There are so many cheaper options available, which has resulted in some sale and he is likely to go down. But Arsenal next plays to Cardiff, and there is a dilemma if he deserves another chance. Mkhitaryan, another popular Arsenal man blanked too, and he assisted the assister for 2 of the goals.

Lacazette coming as a substitute in the second half got an assist for own goal by Issa Diop. Both of the Arsenal full-backs was involved in the goals. With some easy fixtures coming up, it might be a good time to invest on Arsenal backline for returns on both sides. Welbeck coming late as substitute got the third goal for Arsenal. Ozil is still missing for Arsenal and Ramsey started instead of him.

Arnautovic got his second goal but was unlucky to be replaced because of injury before the 60th minute. Felipe Anderson started as central attacking midfielder got the assist for the goal. West Hams poor defensive form continues but Fabianski managed 9 saves which earned him a bonus point and total of 5 points for his managers despite conceding 3 goals.

## Bournemouth 2 - 2 Everton
>Goals: Ake, King / Keane, Walcott
Assists: Wilson X 2 / Sigurdsson, Tosun

The highlight of this match was a red card followed by 2 goals for both sides. But for Fantasy Managers, this match had more than this. The first one should be Richarlison who was the most transferred-in player. He was shown a red card for head-butting Adam Smith and will now miss 2 PL games and an EFL cup. He will return in GW 6 against Arsenal. After the red card, Walcott got the goal for Everton who could be the direct swap for Richarlilson. The other option should be Pedro if he continues to start for Chelsea. Keane got the second for Everton but he was also taken off after clashing heads with Gueye.

For Bournemouth, Wilson continued to impress with another 2 assists, and he has now returned in all of the games so far. But King got the spot-kick duty although Wilson took it in GW1, which is his first return of the season. Ake got the second goal, which means Pickford and the company has now conceded 5 goals in 3 matches.

## Huddersfield Town 0 - 0 Cardiff City
>Goals: N/A
Assist: N/a

As expected, both side failed to score, and a second clean sheet for the Cardiff. These 2 teams have just scored 1 goals in 6 matches, Cardiff yet to score in PL. Cardiff was the one likely to score registering 14 shots in this match but Lossls brilliance made the difference. For fantasy managers, they will be missing the only 4.0 million stopper Hamer after he was taken out in the 13th minute after the collision and there are no updates on him.

## Southampton 1 - 2 Leicester City

>Goals: Bertrand / Maguire, Gray
Assist: N/A / Albrighton, Iheanacho

Danny Ings started yet again in front of Charlie Austin but was unlucky to get into goals after brilliant save by Schmeichel in either of the halves. Bertrand was the one to provide the lead with his first attacking return of the season. For Saints, Hojbjerg conceded the two yellow and played with 10 men in last 15 minutes. Iheanacho started upfront instead f suspended Vardy who got an assist for Grays goal. Pereira listed as a defender in FPL started the game in attacking midfield position but failed to return this time. He got 2 assists in previous 2 games and would be the big addition if he continues to play out of position. Harry Maguire made the difference with the goal in dying minute.

## Liverpool 1 - 0 Brighton
>Goal: Salah
Assist: Firmino

Goal galore was expected here but Mathew Ryans made an impressive display to restrict Liverpool to 1 goals at Anfield. Salah scored the only goals of the match assisted by Firmino, and returned 16 Captain points for 33.3% FPL managers who went with him. Liverpool should have got more with Salah registering 6 shots and 5 for Firmino. Robertson got 3 bonus points for his impressive display as he created 4 big chances for his teammates. Mane who was another popular captain pick had his first blank of the season. Another Liverpools fullback Alexander-Arnold had a good game with plenty of touches in the opponent half, missed a big chance to score and ended with the yellow cards. It is his second yellow card of the season.
