It is a real blow not only for fans of Inter Milan and AC Milan, but also football fans around the world. San Siro, the legendary stadium, one of the iconic football buildings will be demolished. A completely new object will be built next to it.

The fact that Inter and AC Milan will soon be playing at the new stadium has been said for a long time. Both clubs chose to build a facility instead of renovating the old one. The investment amount will exceed € 700 million and will involve the demolition of San Siro (Giuseppe Meazza).

"- The new San Siro will be built next to the old one, which will be demolished. This place will be developed in a different way, new buildings will be built" - said in an interview with the Italian agency ANSA Paolo Scaroni, president of AC Milan, completely leaving no understatements about the further fate of San Siro.

The current facility, where Inter and AC Milan play, can hold 80,000 viewers. It was built in 1926 and since then it has undergone 4 renovations - the last one in the 2015/16 season.

In its history it was the arena of the World Championships in 1934 and in 1990, as well as Euro 1980. At San Siro there were 2 finals of the Champions League - in 2001 (Bayern - Valencia) and in 2016 (Real - Atletico).
