Manchester City gets Mahrez boost

The player looks like he will recover in time for the start of the new Premier League season.

Mahrez, the Algerian intern sustained some serious injuries in the preseason game against Bayern Munich which city won 3-2.

The player though is a doubt for the game against Chelsea for the Community shield.

There were worries about the fitness of the former Leicester city man after he arrived the training complex in clutches.

Those fears have now been given some rest as assessments have shown the injuries not to be too serious. Scans shows that the player sustained no torn damages that could keep him out. He could even be available for the game against Chelsea.

Manchester City will be looking to retain the title after winning it last season, a feat that no one had done since Sir Alex Ferguson did it in 2004.
