OFFICIAL: Chris Smalling in AS Roma !
The 29-year-old defender went to the Italian club on a loan for the 2019/2020 season. Manchester United will receive € 3 million for them. Roma did not mention in the announcement the option to buy an Englishman.
"Giallorossi" will be the first foreign team in Smalling's career. He moved to MU in 2010 from Fulham, which earned € 8 million on its sale. Since then, the defender has played 323 meetings in the "Red Devils" jersey, scoring 18 goals and 4 assists. He ran for Premier League turf 24 times last season.
In current competitions, measuring 194 centimeters in height, a player could have problems improving this result. After moving to Old Trafford, Harry Maguire in the middle of defense at MU got really cramped.
AS Roma started the competition in the new Serie A season with a draw with Genoa 3: 3.
