Is Nikola Kalinic the only Croatian that isn't so sad after losing the World Cup Final?

in #sports6 years ago (edited)

If you don't know the story, Kalinic was part of Croatia's World Cup squad.

The striker refused to come on as a substitute in Croatia's first group game, where they beat Nigeria 2-0. The manager, Zlatko Dalic decided to send home the player after this incident.

I wonder how Kalinic felt watching from home how Croatia basically made history by qualifying to the final and achieving this way the biggest result in their history.

He obviously had to thing every minute since being sent home that he could have been part of this amazing result.

And now, watching Croatia being beaten by France with 4-2 I can't help but wonder : could Kalinic be the only Croatian on this planet that feels kinda relieved by this result?

Anyway, I guess in life we have to try not to be like Nikola Kalinic. :)

Wow, I didn't even think about this, but it is so true... poor guy, and what a stupid thing to do in the group stage match. One should be honored to even have the chance to play for your country! And, if you cannot submit to a coach and his authority, then you have nothing to do in a national squad!
