Martellus Bennett is Officially Cut by The Packers
After less than 1 year on the team, tight end Martellus Bennett was officially cut on Wednesday by the Green Bay Packers.
Field Yates broke the news Via Twitter.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Wednesday that the NFL's transaction wire indicated the Packers released Bennett with a "failure to disclose physical condition" designation.
Bennett had signed a three-year, $21 million deal with the Packers back in March. He missed Week 9's loss to the Detroit Lions with a shoulder injury and had been ruled out for Week 10 against the Chicago Bears.
There might be some be some drama that follows according to Ian Rapoport
Not sure if another team will pick Bennet up or if he's done for good. He hinted about retirement back on Oct 28. on Instagram.
Lance Kendricks will now be the primary tight end for the Packers and tight end Richard Rodgers will have an increased role as well.
