Stephan El Shaarawy became player of Shanghai Shenhua.
His transfer from Roma costs € 18 million. Meanwhile, the player under the 3-year contract is expected to earn € 40 million. This means a multiple increase compared to the salary he receives in Serie A.
Initially, the 26-year-old planned to reject the offer from the Chinese Super League, but after talking to the Roma directors and the lack of chances for a significant increase, he changed his mind.
Winger in the senior football debut in 2008 in the colors of Genoi. Three years later, AC Milan bought it. There it seemed that he would grow up to be the star of the Italian football, but he didn't meet all expectations. In 2016, he moved to the capital. For Roma, he scored 40 goals and 26 assists in 139 games.
