WHAT’S HAPPENING TO FIFA?

If there’s anything FIFA should do right now, it’s definitely not resting. All the awards and adjustments they just made should be revisited. I know it wouldn’t be possible again! The decision has been made and that’s final. If any of the board members is reading this, just know you’ve made terrible mistakes. Awards in football isn’t by luck, the right and deserving players gets it. Now, it’s looking like a pool is being made and any name picked from the pool wins the award. I’m still speaking in parables right?

I’ll be listing six things that weren’t right. Few hours ago, the FIFA award ceremony was done in London. This is the first fault.
End of the year award at this time?
In case you don’t know what the award ceremony entails, it’s an event set aside to award players that has performed brilliantly throughout the year. Specifically, their performance from January to December is being considered. That’s why it’s termed end of the year award. I guess that has changed. If performances over the year would be considered, why make a conclusion at this time?
January was originally stated for the ceremony till it was shifted. Till date, they never gave a reason. The award isn’t a seasonal award, but it’s looking like one. On the 25th of September, 2018, the FIFA best player of the year in 2018 has already been determined. This brings me to the second fault.
The winner is questionable.
This is actually debatable. Modric was nominated alongside Ronaldo and Salah, the Croatian defeated both and emerged as winner. There are lots of factors in determining the best player of the year, which of the factors was chosen to crown Modric the winner? Every player that had won the trophy scored a lot of goals or was the best player in his team or won trophies. That player needs to be very outstanding. We are dealing with the best player in the world here, he needs to make us see reasons for deserving it.
Modric was an indispensable player in Real Madrid but he wasn’t the best. He gave just six assists, that’s too low for a midfielder of his caliber. Kroos and Casimero had more interceptions and tackles than him. The only thing he had as edge is accurate passes. Is that enough to be crowned the best player of the year?
He was awarded the best player in the just concluded world cup. Is it because nobody expected Croatia would make it to the finals or they thought he had the best performance in the competition? If you watched the world cup, you should see things from my point of view. Modric wasn’t that spectacular in the competition.
Salah is the third best player in the world but he isn’t in FIFA 11.
Now, this is bullshit! The FIFA 11 consists of eleven players. Best forwards, midfielders and defenders are being arranged as a team. How come the third best player in the world isn’t in the team? Kylan Mbappe and Eden Hazard were in the team but the Egyptian was excluded. This has never happened! This shouldn’t happen. Nominating him to compete for the best player in the world simply meant he was better than all the forwards except Ronaldo.
Daniel Alves as the best right back.
This man shouldn’t be on that list. He wasn’t even in the Brazilian squad that went to world cup. Another promising player was used instead. Daniel Alves didn’t play much in the champion’s league. His team was defeated at the early stages. Just some wonderful moments he had in France shouldn’t be the reason for being the best right back in the world.
There are lots of right backs that did better than Daniel last season.
De Gea is in the team of the year while Courtois wins the goalkeeper of the year.
Is this a mistake? I hope I wake up and find out it has been corrected. The best goalkeeper isn’t the keeper at the team of the year. This is ridiculous!
Salah won the Puskas award.
That goal is amazing but EPL thought otherwise. It wasn’t in the list of EPL top goals but it’s the best goal in the world. Perhaps, FIFA needs to see highlights of the goals that made the EPL’s list.
So many irregularities in one night. What’s happening to FIFA? Should we keep looking forward to the award ceremonies?
