Picture of the day - Ford Escort Cosworth gp.A and Francois Delacour

I am a big fan of old rally cars, especially group A cars, just before WRC era. Cars were prepared by local tuners and not by factories and they were much more affordable then today's WRC top class.

Ford Escort RS Cosworth group A was car in the A8 class. That means full modified car with close to 400bhp and 6 speed dog box gearbox.

With the right driver, that was the winning car.

And Francois Delacour (from France) was the top 'dog' and works Ford driver who won Monte Carlo Rallye in 1994 with that car.

So today's photo of the day belongs to that winning Monte Carlo Rallye 1994 car and Francois Delacour behind the wheel.
