I am releasing a 50 day daily devotional about the end-times as revealed in Scripture. Along with the text, I will be providing a video where I cover the text of the day, and @verbal-d will be providing an audio version of it. That way, whether you want to read, watch, or listen, you'll be able to enjoy this study as you wish.

The plan is to release this devotional over the next 50 consecutive days, but life may "get in the way." We will do our best, but please be patient with me if I fall behind.

DAY 31 - "SEAL JUDGMENTS"

If my reasoning on the last issue about the timing of the pre-“Day of the Lord” darkening of the sun and bloodying of the moon is accurate, a logical question may arise. How could the “seal judgments” of God’s end-time wrath recorded in Revelation 6 still be pre-“Day of the Lord,” if His end-time wrath is poured out? Could the following verse really be the pre-“Day of the Lord” sign that Joel and Peter spoke of?

“And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.” (Revelation 6:12-13)

This is another issue where presuppositions get in the way of “having ears to hear and eyes to see” what the Bible actually says. First, these seals in Revelation 6 are never called “seal judgments” by God. That is a presupposition that people read into the text. Second, these seals are not the wrath of God, end-time or otherwise. An honest evaluation of what the Bible actually says can easily prove this. If one was to read through Revelation 5, you would find that this is where the concept of these seals first appears, for there is “a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals” (Revelation 5:1b). The focus of Revelation 5 is the book, not the seals. The book is mentioned eight specific times, while the seal is only mentioned four times. Also, the seals are never mentioned in Revelation 5, except that the book is mentioned with them.

“… a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.” (Revelation 5:1b)

“… Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?” (Revelation 5:2b).

“… the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.” (Revelation 5:5b)

“… Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof…” (Revelation 5:9)

As we examine these excerpts, and consider that there are four specific mentions of the “book” alone as well, we can clearly see that the focus in on the “book." I believe that it is the book that contains the end-time wrath of God, and that the seals are just requirements that have to be met prior. For instance, until “the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood”, the seventh seal would not be allowed to be opened. After all, “The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the LORD come” (Joel 2:31). Once these events occurring between the seals are viewed as requirements that must be met first prior to the opening of the next seal, instead of as effects of the previous seal, a very different picture begins to emerge.

Point #1 : Nowhere in the Bible are the seals mentioned in Revelation 5 & 6 ever called “seal judgments”; that is a presupposition that many read into the text.

Point #2 : The focus is not on the seals, but on the book which the seals temporarily prevent from being opened; I believe that the book contains God’s end-time wrath.

I did so as an experiment to see how hard it would be for a new user to get noticed on steemit, so I didn't let anyone know that I was doing it. It is not the purpose of this series to just copy all of my previous work, but instead to transform it into some new outlets by releasing it in an audio and video format, to broaden the reach that this work has.

Again, though I will certainly never claim to know it all, I do believe that many are being lead astray by some popular beliefs. I hope that this project will be able to help many others understand the end-times more accurately. Thanks!
