After tiger and lion the jaguar is the third biggest feline predator in the world, living in the rain forests of South and Central America. Owing to the fact that the jaguar's lifestyle is the most unexplored among the big cats, this animal has a mysterious touch to it. Well-muscled and equipped with a fur that is covered with rosettes, which can include one or several dots, jaguars are hardly to be seen in in the wilderness thanks to being masters of camouflage. The melanistic jaguar, a color morph called "black panther", is estimated at occuring in about 6% of the South American jaguar population. As a loner animal eating vertebrates of all kind the jaguar inhabits swampy flood areas in the midst of the dense and impenetrable humid jungle vegetation, while safely keeping aloof from the Human species, which is its only real enemy. Whether due to poachers not only killing the jaguar's main prey species but also hunting the jaguar for its highly coveted coat or fangs, or just Human expansion reducing the animal's habitat range in general, the jaguar is one of the most well-known endangered species in South America. Their lifespan can extend up to 22 years.

When the jaguar sneaks into our life this is a very special sign, for it virtually never appears in human territory. Thanks to its spotted coat which resembles the starry firmament the jaguar guards over the space secrets and is only willing to share its wisdom with humans when there is an instinctive feeling of trustworthy responsibility. Those too verdantly connecting with the jaguar will potentially lose their bearings in the dream jungle and unknowingly fall for will-o'-the wisps leading them astray to bewitched places of dark magic. Trickily enough, people becoming enmeshed in such jeopardous setting often do not even realise that they are under detrimental external influence. What they are being led to believe is a mysterious treasure map promising them blessings of sheer success in truth is a cursed manual precipitating them into foolproof ruin.
