Mid-Afternoon Thoughts: Reminiscing On Almost A Year On Steemit!
Trying To Get Excited About Steem Again.
It's crazy to think that I've been on Steemit for almost one year because it feels like yesterday that I was writing my introduction post and our logo was still blue! Plenty has changed other than our logo and my ability to efficiently regurgitate blog posts on my page. Here are a few random thoughts about my first year on Steemit.
Hard-Forks Are Better Than Spoons!
One of the positives occurred during HF-19 where minnows received a larger voice through larger upvotes. This increase in influence resulted in less exposure, but most of us produce trash content anyway, so it's whatever.
The drop in exposure did suck for a while, but with the arrival of bid bots everything changed because we gained the ability to entice anyone to read our intellectual vomit if we paid enough. This brought on a period of inauthenticity and spam that really turned me off from this community, but I figure as long as I don't abuse the system might as well take part. It's not like many people read my lunch time thoughts to begin with, so no harm done.
My lunch time is actually coming to a close soon, so I'm goin to end it here. I'm planning on doing a longer post about my year on Steemit on the actual day and attempt to create some actual content since I have enough SBD saved up to promote it lol.
I'm looking forward to reconnecting with my friends over the next few days and see if I can reignite that spark I had during the last bull-run! Until next time, this has been a message from your friendly neighborhood #spiderblogger!
