The third official marketing post has been published by the Steemit, Inc. marketing team. How exciting!

Since the post was a wall of text that's too long for most people to bother reading (which is yet another in a long line of complete misjudgments of social media trends), I offer you the ultra TL;DR version...

Some friendly advice

You're not going to get most people excited from the same stale insider buzzwords and promises (distant as they are) of what's to come.

Also - I do hope that the marketing team actually gets out there and promotes the STEEM blockchain independently of the barely-usable Steemit.com website, since the team is admitting that "just good enough" is all they're hoping for with the site and apps...which happens to actually not be good enough, based on user/investor statistics.

We are still here...

My investment here has been in time, creativity and helping people. I haven't seen any marketing efforts for Steemit beyond some "exciting" announcements which are just teases for what's coming next week.

All I can say is if you tease a spot a little, it can get really exciting but if you don't move from that spot it can get really fekkin' annoying really fekkin' quick.

That being said, I still love Steemit. I still have faith that it will be around for a while but I fear I may be falling into the category of "it is what it is" which translates into status quo, which then translates into no growth or vision.

Which begs the question: Has Steemit shot its load?

Has Steemit shot its load?

It gets really close sometimes, but then pulls out. Steemit is a sexual deprivationist...or at least a delayed gratificationist!

I guess we'll just have to see what comes next.

I can deal with delayed gratification. I'm a patient woman with plenty of other toys to keep myself occupied. LOL

lol :)

Which begs the question: Has Steemit shot its load?

Great question to propose to our new 'marketing team' :)

:) This is great.

I have been very supportive of the new marketing team and hopeful for the future. However, after reading this update I have to admit I am a little disappointed for some of the reasons you mentioned.
1:Your observation about it's format was correct. I would let it slide if it was thorough, specific and detail oriented. Which in my opinion it was not.
2: As soon as I saw "just good enough" my heart sank. I am no marketing genius but I don't think that will exactly put confidence in users and investors.
3: Since the first announcement some on Steemit have been pushing the "Now go do our job" meme. At first I thought that was extremely harsh, now I am concerned there may be truth in those words.
I love Steem and Steemit and will be supportive in any way I can going forward, but I have to restate again my disappointment in efforts thus far. Just my opinion.

and promotes the STEEM blockchain independently of the barely-usable Steemit.com website

The currency itself may also need a bit of independent marketing for use in the Real Worldtm. Having a convenient currency with nice specs is no guarantee for success, specially when other increasingly similar currencies are being marketed as just that: convenient currencies.

It will be harder to get more users on Steemit and the blockchain when the currency fails to take off as, well, a currency. Push and pull marketing at the same time could do much good.

I haz used real marketing words!

I haz used real marketing words!

Well, somebody has to around here.

so...what are you doing in relation to marketing or making the platform better? I don't know, you use to bring value, now you are just being a sourpuss on all your posts. Sad.

Patience, my friend. I have my own plans.

And I always see people say, "Well, what are you doing?" instead of asking why Steemit, Inc. is not doing much, despite having the biggest wallets. Don't try to deflect the fact that they have severely under-performed over the past year. This "marketing plan" is just the latest blunder in a long line of blunders. How about we hold them accountable instead of turning on each other? That would be a nice change.

@ats-savid is a sad, sad man, he should power down! Oh, he already is. :)

And it's like you said: a member who didn't power down, and brought value, is powering down. People could spend some time thinking why.

...a member who didn't power down, and brought value, is powering down.

Yeah, and it's not like I'm the only one either. But let's just keep blaming and attacking the people who actually put honest effort into this. That'll make things better!

Always remember: If the STEEM price is falling and users/investors leave or don't come, it's my fault and the fault of people like me who actually wanted this to work and who put a lot of time and effort into making it happen...only to be stifled by the people who actually have the most to gain from its success.

Don't forget that. Totally my fault that STINC management is horrendous.

I know that whatever plan someone would have created you would have been toxic about it.

Dont like the marketing plan? Make one yourself and show how it should be done rather than being a sour grape.

As I already said, I have my own plans. What more do you want? If you don't like my (quite valid) criticisms, you're free to ignore them. But for the record, a lot of people seem to agree with me, for whatever that's worth.

I'm sorry that I'm not a cheerleader of bad ideas and poor planning and management. If that makes me "toxic," so be it.

Dont like the marketing plan? Make one yourself

Dude, we're not the ones on the fucking payroll.

I want to BUY MOAR of cheap .07cents STEEM please...

So I can store them in the SAFEST Steemit Online\Blockhain Wallet and HODL!!!

:p

WHEN WAS STEEMIT CREATED
Steemit/Date launched
2016
Sometimes I think you guys are asking for too much to a one-year-old. Give Steemit a break, we will get there.

It's too much to ask that a professional marketer come up with an actual marketing plan? It's too much to ask that a company that's sitting on millions of dollars actually put some effort into marketing and developing their own site and ecosystem that they virtually control?

Steemit has been given lots of breaks. They have been given plenty of passes. If they want to continue asking/hoping for people to use and invest into this platform/system, then they're going to have to put a little more effort into it. It doesn't matter if this is "only" a year old. I look at their words and actions from the launch until now and I see the same problems repeated again and again. You may be willing to ignore it, but many people are not and will likely be taking their money back out...as they have been doing for a long time.

Well david, Steemit's only choice is to keep on going forward. You as well as I have a choice either to stay and be supportive or leave. We don't have to drag down an entire community with ou pessimism and negative attitude. If we believed in Steemit at some point, let's stay loyal to it; if we changed our mind about it, let's leave. No one at Steemit is forcing us to stay. Good day

either to stay and be supportive or leave

False dilemma fallacy. A third option is to stay and be critical, because few things improve without analysis and critique.

The problem is not time. For almost a year, there have been many suggestions, many proposals, but little communication, few actions, no leadership, few changes ... and the war of whales that do not end. In short, a loss of credibility

Yeah its the same ol' run around. Where is the apps? Where is the burning of Steem to get ads going? Blah Blah! I had enough. Developers, Developers where are they?

I guess was spoiled by ETH team actually doing what they said from day #1. Steem is not looking good!

No developers. Well...not many developers. I'm sure the bloggers of Steemit will be able to convince them to come develop on the STEEM blockchain.

Bloggers of the world, market!

@ats-david I thought I saw a puttitat oh that's tweety bird's line
:D
is that latin?
i have to admit i read the caps and just skimmed too long indeed
lost in the details ..i hope they take suggestions into consideration

It's Latin, but it has nothing to do with marketing. Oh wait ...

Yeah very little developers and I see very little results. Man I sold off a nice chunk of BTC last year just for Steem just to watch it evaporate. I would like to........

steemit_plane.jpg

Trust in the good results, thank you very much dear friend @ ats-david for this information

I'm glad they are not on my payroll with the "just good enough" is all they're hoping for" attitude. SMH

proper "just good enough" is simply a definition of MVP - and they are right. Perfection should never be done in first iteration. You never have enough resources to be perfect.

Yeah. Unfortunately, the "just good enough" attitude is apparently the position of the people in control of the payroll. We're supposed to be the "investors" and this is supposed to inspire confidence and make us enthusiastic to market for them?

Good luck with that!

Seriously in all my years in business I have come across people that have thought and acted with the just good enough crap, but to come out and publically say that is, to my mind, not going to build a lot of confidence lol!

Commenter said, on the new post about marketing plans...content providers are sucking the reward pool dry, oh my😱

<Gasp!> How naughty of them.

I feel very naughty😘
