La fuente - The fountain

Hace varios años mis padres han podido comprar un pequeño terreno en la ciudad de Pehuen-Có. Años más tarde después de un gran esfuerzo en la preparación del terreno para dejarlo apto para la construcción (ya que era literalmente un médano) lograron con mucho esfuerzo hacer una pequeña y modesta casa este hermoso pueblo, donde pasabamos veranos enteros de campamento alla por finales de los años 80 y principios de los 90.

Several years ago my parents have been able to buy a small plot of land in the city of Pehuen-Có. Years later after a great effort in the preparation of the land to leave it suitable for construction (since it was literally a dune) they managed with a lot of effort to make a small and modest house this beautiful town, where we spent whole summers camping there by the end from the 80s and early 90s.

Después de haber alcanzado su tan ansiado sueño se dedicaron a acomodar la casa y sus alrededores forestando, y llenando de plantas por todos los rincones. A medida que fueron avanzando en las remodelaciones de la casa y del terreno, se fueron haciendo paso en uno de los sueños que siempre tuvo mi madre; el tener una fuente construida por sus propias manos con elementos tomados de la naturaleza, tales como piedras, plantas y demás elementos.

After having reached their long-awaited dream, they dedicated themselves to accommodating the house and its surroundings, foresting, and filling plants in every corner. As they progressed in remodeling the house and the land, they made their way into one of the dreams my mother always had; having a fountain built by their own hands with elements taken from nature, such as stones, plants and other elements.

Después de varios meses de trabajo y de viajes a Sierra de la Ventana, lugar del que trajeron las piedras y la mayoría de las plantas que decoran la fuente, el sueño quedaría plasmado en algo tangible.

After several months of work and travel to Sierra de la Ventana, where they brought the stones and most of the plants that decorate the fountain, the dream would be reflected in something tangible.

Una vez terminada la construcción de la fuente mi madre estuvo bastante delicada de salud donde una gran infección pulmonar la tuvo bastante delicada de salud durante la mayor parte del año.

Once the construction of the fountain was finished, my mother was quite delicate in health, where a great lung infection had her rather delicate health during most of the year.

Más alla de los contratiempos, ella logró hacer realidad su sueño y hoy disfruta de su fuente cada vez que está en la "Casa de la Colina", en honor al gran médano que había en el terreno que compraron en su momento

Beyond the setbacks, she managed to make her dream come true and today she enjoys her fountain every time she is in the "Hill House", in honor of the great methane that was in the land that they bought at the time

Hoy solo queda sentarse a tomar una tasa de café frente a tan hermosa fuente,contemplarla, descansar y disfrutar del esfuerzo realizado.

Today we just have to sit down to have a cup of coffee in front of such a beautiful fountain, contemplate it, rest and enjoy the effort made.
