[Cervantes Magazine - Vol. 12]

Hello Steemit community, following this week’s theme about "family”, today we are going to talk about an activity that in any convention, whether it be video games, or big social gaming events like SOFA(held in Colombia), is never missing, i’m talking about cosplay.

What is Cosplay? We all have a cosplayer in our little hearts - Rebeca Saray

For people who are not familiar, one could say that the Cosplayers are models or divas usually present in this type of events, bringing to life iconic or little-known characters from video games series, animes, and manga, to name a few.

Many times Cosplayers are perceived as common people who dress up as if for them it was October 31, but that may be a misconception, because what differentiates a normal person from a Cosplayer, is their characterization and visual show, trying to emulate the character they want to interpret to “perfection”, and so, apart from models, they’re also actors who know how to represent their role well.

Many times these fun cosplayers embody their favorite character and make it shine in the event they attend, other times they participate in catwalks, where they compete for quality and best character interpretation, or serve as advertisers, promoting various gaming or technology products for certain recognized brands.

There are many types of cosplayers that won’t be named in this article, but what is emphasized is that this activity that very few dare to perform, can be enjoyed as a family (if you share the same tastes), as there are many interpretations where fathers, mothers and children can recreate certain characters in groups, and if by any chance there are no such personifications, they can be created and adapted to the taste of the artists.

Examples of this can be endless, but these are some of the most popular:

The Incredibles

Goku’s family (Dragon Ball Z)

Predators

The Adams family

We can go on with the examples. It’s often difficult to differentiate the thin line that separates Costume and Cosplay if you don’t know about it, first of all, if you know in advance that the person or family are Cosplayers, it’s recommended not to say things like "What a beautiful costume" or that type of comments, as it may minimize the work they have done with effort and dedication.

Personally, I would like to do a family Cosplay in the future, when I raise a family of my own, and if I have a daughter this would be what I would do initially:

Big Daddy and Little Sister (Bioshock)

And in case i have a son:

Mario Family (Mario Bros)

And without leaving behind the world of cryptocurrencies, many of these artists can receive donations from their followers in the means of payment their choosing, in our case, the SBD or Steem can serve very well as a contribution to the development of their work.

The magazine thanks you for taking the time to read this Post, we hope that this information has been useful and we suggest you keep an eye on the next Post in the next volume, since there is still more material to be discussed on the subject of Cryptocurrencies and the World of Video Games.
