A few things that you need to know about smartcash smartnodes
Smatcash is a decentralized crypto currency that functions due to a network of computers running the same software the smartnodes are required to communicate with each other 24x7 in order to to make the network decentralized. Hence they need to be having the same IP and needs to be up and running 24x7x365 days of the year.
Smartnodes or the masternodes of the smartcash network are needed to perform instant transactions.
Instant transactions is the hallmark of smartcash.For this purpose masternodes are needed and smartcash being a community driven project encourages its members to run smartnodes.
Smartnode holders get periodic rewards in the form of smartcash.Earlier the rewards used to be paid once every ten days.
Now a days after the smart cash update to version 1.2.3 the reward frequency would effectively increase and the rewards would be paid after every two days.Though the rewards might decrease a bit in the process.
This is to ensure that all valid and eligible smartnodes get paid regularly and in a timely manner.
Requirements to host a smartnode
It is required to hold ten thousand smart in your wallet. In addition a dedicated VPS is required that offers IPv4.
A minimum of 1 GB of RAM and 20 GB hard disk.
The VPS should be running 24x7x365 days with not more than 2 hours of disconnection from the internet.
Cost of starting a smartcash smartnode
The current price of 1 smartcash = $0.09 that means 10,000 smart = 10,000 x $0.09.
This comes to $900 a decent VPS can be obtained at about $5 per month as a reward 10% of the block reward per each mined block is given as smartnode rewards.
Smartnode holders would be holding their 10,000 smart for a fairly a long period of time therefore they can also get an additional income by way of smart rewards that is paid out on 25th of every month because of holding one thousand or more smartcash in your wallet.The exact estimate of smartnode income can be made using the calculater found here.
