SketchCrazed – surreal, lurid, unzipped
SketchCrazed is an opportunity for me to share the very strange drawings I do. The common thread is in the attempt to explore new relationships of form, contrast, and pattern, and to see where they take me.
Birdwoman
This crazy drawing is really a study of skeleton and appendages. The face has a kind of double beak, which inspired the name birdwoman. Instead of her chi ball, she is holding a sacred object in the form of a diagram of some kind, all on a background of digital circuity.
I didn’t know that there are a few meanings for birdwoman. One is that of a very unattractive woman. See the Urban Dictionary definition:.
Bird Woman also refers to the storyteller Sacagawea, and her tales of traveling with Lewis and Clark to the Pacific in the early 1800s.

What IS it? a drawing? a digital image? what materials did you use?
It is a pen and ink drawing that I scanned and added the background and color in photoshop. I like doing collage work, so the background is a collage of digital circuitry stuff. I add color and sometimes textures to some drawings to make them feel more finished.
