I dunno I think it is a healthy instinct to consider something bullshit until proven otherwise. And the proof should be something clear. To be honest most claims are bullshit, so statistically you won't be wrong by assuming.
That instinct is healthy, in a play-the-odds way. It takes into account the fact that it's a lot easier to make a claim than it is to back a claim up.
