Week 6 Results

Both the NFL and Steemit League # 3 saw the last of the undefeateds fall. The Kansas City Chiefs and @mikeshuh were both 5-0 entering the week and left 5-1. There is only 1 winless team left with Gators @tom74 squeaking out the victory against Rico's Raiders @richq11. There are now three teams tied at 5-1 on the year.

Unfortunately this game was the "Game of the Week", but was one of the biggest blowouts of the week as Corn Cobb Pipe @mstodola91 took it to Nic Nasty @nicnas. Between the running backs, receivers, and tight ends for Nic Nasty @nicnas they combined for a total of ZERO Tds. The sole bright spot for Nic Nasty @nicnas was Drew Brees who scored 11.5 points. There really isn't much else to say about this from the perspective of Nic Nasty @nicnas. Stefon Diggs did not play in Week 6 and gave Nic Nasty @nicnas 0 points and the Seattle Seahawks defense was on a bye. For Corn Cobb Pipe @mstodola91 he took full advantage of the sqaud from Nic Nasty @nicnas having a lackluster performance. Deshaun Watson continued his impressive play as he scored 23 points for Corn Cobb Pipe @mstodola91. Mike Evans from Tampa Bay (18.5 points) and Golden Tate (22.6 points) both had impressive weeks at receiving for Corn Cobb Pipe @mstodola91. One of the best weeks I have seen from a kicker came on the foot of Ryan Succop, who made 5 field goals for The Titans and Corn Cobb Pipe @mstodola91.

Harambes Revenge @kryptocek vs @Shenanigator

@Shenanigator has had impressive displays recently and this week was no different as he cruised to victory over Harambes Revenge @kryptocek. This was a tough week for Harambes Revenge @kryptocek as Jameis Winston was knocked out of the game with a shoulder injury and did not return giving him only 2.5 points for the week. The skill players had solid weeks, but nothing incredible. The controversial play in the Jets vs Patriots game negated a TD for Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Harambes Revenge @kryptocek, but this did not affect the outcome of this matchup. The difference maker in this matchup were the running backs and quarterback for @Shenanigator. @Shenanigator started off the week sitting pretty after Cam Newton scored 20.6 points Thursday night as he threw the most passes in his NFL career in a losing effort for the Panthers. Leonard Fournette (21.8 points) and Carlos Hyde (24.5 points) gave @Shenanigator a comfortable lead that proved to be unsurmountable for Harambes Revenge @kryptocek to overcome. Also, a shoutout for Antonio Brown is due after he had a quiet first half, but had an acrobatic 55-yard touchdown catch for the Steelers and @Shenanigator.

In the preview for this matchup I anticpated a close matchup, but boy was I wrong. @mikeshuh took his first L for the year in what was a blowout! Aaron Rodgers, @mikeshuh's QB, who was having one of his best seasons ever is now done for the season with a broken collarbone. Get Better AR-12 and come back better than ever next year! The injured players for @mikeshuh were a big reason in his lowest scoring output in the season. There were two starters who had great weeks in Chris Thompson (17.8 points) and Zach Ertz (15.8 points), but the rest of his 8 starters combined to score only 36 points. The story of the week week was the masterful performance from A team has no name @boatsports90. Only two of the players for did not score at least 7 points this week. Melvin Gordon exploded for 36 points after scoring 2 touchdowns and having 150 yards combined rushing and receiving. Larry Fitzgerald might be the sleep of the year, but I can't say I am surprised after he scored 27.8 points after another 100+ yard performance and tacking on a TD for A team has no name @boatsports90. There might be some serious question marks for @mikeshuh as Aaron Rodgers is done for the year. Maybe there is an opportunity to trade a QB for a skill player?

Gators @tom74 vs Rico's Raiders @richq11

When creating the preview I should have made this matchup the "Preview of the Week" based on principle alone since both of these teams were 0-5 coming into this matchup. This matchup ended up being one of the best we have seen all year. This matchup literally went down to the last possession of the final game as the Titans beat the Colts. It looked like there would be a shot for Frank Gore to get some more points in the final few possessions, but the Colts instead were passing the ball. Entering the matchup Monday night, Gators @tom74 was up by about 23 points. Rico's Raiders @richq11 was only able to get a total of 21 points from Frank Gore (8.7 points) and Adam Vinatieri (12.8 points). Mark Ingram had arguably the game of his career in terms of fantasy production as he scored 30 points after running for 114 yards and scoring 2 touchdowns on the ground for Gators @tom74. Each of these teams had only 3 of the starters from their team score less than double figures, but the outburst from Mark Ingram ended up being the difference maker in this matchup.

@paradise-found vs @NiketheMutt

With @mikeshuh no longer undefeated, @paradise-found has taken the lead in terms of power rankings. @paradise-found had 7 starters score at least 14 points this week. Le'Veon Bell led the way with 28 points after rushing for 179 yards and scoring 1 TD. The most impressive performance on the defensive side of the ball was from @paradise-found as the Ravens scored 24 points thanks to two defensive/special teams touchdowns. Although no receiver/tight end had more than 100 yards receiving, three of the players for @paradise-found had receiving touchdowns. After the 22.4 point performance from Christian McCaffrey Thursday night, it seemed like @NiketheMutt might have a chance of upsetting @paradise-found, but after less than stellar performances from the other two starting running backs from @NiketheMutt this was nothing but a pipe dream. Martavis Bryant continued his underwhelming performance this season after scoring only 4.7 points on 2 catches.

Jupiter Explosion @breakthrough vs @sevinwilson

This matchup ended up being pretty close to the prediction as @sevinwilson was projected to win by about 14 points. Jupiter Explosion @breakthrough was let down this week from Andre Ellington who did not get any touches in the Arizona Cardinals victory this weekend due to Adrian Peterson getting the majority of the carries. Had he started Matt Forte instead of Ellington, this matchup would have ended differently. Gronk had argubaly his best game of the year this past week as he scored 26 points for Jupiter Explosion @breakthrough. Playing the Houston Texans Defense was a smart move for Jupiter Explosion @breakthrough as they scored 22 points for him. Although a great effort it was not enough to claim victory. Jerick McKinnon had his second consecutive 20+ point week after scoring a total of 12 points the first four games of the season. Each of @sevinwilson's four receivers scored over 10 points led by Kelvin Benjamin who scored 18.9 points.
