Daredevil...The Devil is "Back in Black"!
The Devil of Hell´s Kitchen is reborn and returns to its roots in its third season on Netflix
Hi Steemians, last October was the premiere of the new season of Daredevil, a season much awaited by fans of this character and more than anything by the weakness of his story in his second season and in his participation in The Defenders.
In spite of not having a great performance in the series where he shared scenes with the other heroes of Marvel, it is evident that not even the same showruner as scriptwriters wanted to waste time trying to remember much of what happened in that miniseries premiered in August last year, I think a lot of people (including myself) were thrilled by the post-credit scenes that I saw in the 8 episodes of that story, just seeing what had happened to Matt Murdock at the end of The Defenders, for comic fans knew it meant everything that would come in the future for this character and this series.
I think it was a great idea to bring this story to this series, it was necessary after seeing the second season that served as a bridge not only for The Punisher, but for the miniseries of the 4 heroes who already had a life in Netflix, that's why making Matt had such a great feeling of guilt for everything that happened and made him seek a punishment using the original clothing that was seen in the first season and not only that, but that this season will look for a heavy villain to make the hero of this story stronger, the return of Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, would be key to the entire development of this season, serves as a motive in not only the main character in this series but in many of the other moments, this character is so key that it seems to overshadow the rebirth of Daredevil, but in the end is only important to tell this great story about "The Man Without Fear".
That's why in this post I want to focus on the hero, on the path that leads Matt Murdock/Daredevil to be reborn to be the same as before, with or without the mask. Matt begins his step in a world of guilt and self-destruction, in this season seems to have only one goal that is to heal his wounds to make new wounds that may make him pay for so many losses that he has always lived, I think the dramatic weight in this third season is well carried by this character, his conscience which seems that some moments becomes his worst enemy, does that takes his hatred to a limit that is already closer to lead him to madness and of course all this intensifies with the release of the person who is the image of evil for his city, Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, this time stronger, more protected with a plan that seems to have no flaws and where one of his objectives is the Devil of Hell´s Kitchen, this makes Matt Murdock lose all notion of everything, where he believes that his self-destruction will lead him to finish what he started a while ago and this time will be forever.
There are 2 characters that also influence and show a part of the story that happened to Matt Murdock and what could be transformed if hatred and madness end with him, start with one that took him to the limit of the physical to Daredevil in every fight they had, Benjamin "Dex" Poindexter, solitary character without anyone can give him any guidance on how he should face life, I think that's one of the things that differentiates the childhood stage between Matt and Dex, but as adults both characters must deal with hatred, the resentment of having grown up without their parents, with that feeling of abandonment, this is where you notice the difference between the two because Murdock initially sought to help people, that was his calling and he felt full with his work, whether as a lawyer or as a street watchman, instead Dex, on the contrary, he could never have a motivation for himself, everything was orchestrated by someone since he never had a stable reference while growing up, he was always alone, not like Matt who had his father and then Father Lantom, but in this part of the story of both characters, you can see how their minds are on the verge of collapse, one seeks to fall into that madness to free and do what he thinks is right and another seeks what he learned as a child so as to remain stable, in the end one changes and the other remains or improves in how he must deal with all their problems.
The other character that makes a not so direct connection with Matt Murdock, is Rahul "Ray" Nadeem, this character shows what it is like to be a victim of the whole web of lies, corruption and violence that creates Wilson Fisk, this character shows how a good person can walk the wrong path doing good actions, believe that he is doing good when in fact he is a victim of a big lie, is clearly see how someone sells the soul to the devil without knowing it, but I think what happens with this character shows what happens when you start working for Fisk and I think that's for sure what happened to Matt's father and at one point this season something happens that I'm sure he couldn't do Jack Murdock and that was to say goodbye to his son and tell him that everything will be fine, even if it means a lie, I think this character is very important to this story, I think Matt to be able to witness this moment makes him think about everything he thought to do and I think it is fundamental to the rebirth of Matt as a lawyer and as the devil.
Matt Murdock's allies, are those who try to make him return to who he was before, not so much that he ceases to be all that he has become but that he returns to the person of whom he was his friend, these important characters for his story are Karen Page and Franklin "Foggy" Nelson, they wanted to save their friend somehow, they fought against whoever the way they could do it and that shows the importance of Matt for them, that there is always a different way to solve problems and not those who thought Daredevil to save everyone so it would cost him his sanity and even his life, but in this season there is a new character that will give stability to Matt, someone who is expected to have more importance in this story, that character is Sister Maggie Grace, although she may mean that with a truth make more Matt fall in the path of hate, I think it's at the end of a sacrifice, in which the main character of this series, reconsiders and can focus on walking the path he has always thought to follow, better yet, finally abandon that hatred of life and help people if they see their lives reflected in every fight on the streets of Hell's Kitchen.
This third season of Daredevil, was full of action, unforgettable scenes in many chapters, but the basis of all this the history of this vigilante, is about a history of redemption and not only of this character but of the series itself by everything seen in The Defenders, if I thought it would be difficult to overcome the first season, but I think it's this new season he manages to overcome it and although many say it's due to the return of a great character like Wilson Fisk and I agree with it, but it's shown by Matt Murdock / Daredevil, is what I wanted to see for a while, was a great idea in bringing to the screen a great story of comics like "Born Again ", shows a way that the path of this hero is full of many difficulties and will not be easy to walk. This was a great story and I hope he will be given another opportunity to continue telling everything that these characters live, see the evolution of many of them, both old and new, give him so be another season and not have the luck they lived Iron Fist and Luke Cage.
