Welcome to the twenty-seventh tutorial of my SEO tutorial series. We've covered the important parts of link-building including the method of finding powerful domains for your PBN and the newbie-friendly guide to make money by simply selling domains. I think that it's time to go a little more forward.

It is often seen that optimizers love to harm their competitors through any possible way, no matter if it's ethical or not. They just care about their rankings and their desire is to rank in Top 3 results. If your site is ranking in Top 3 results, then there are chances that such people will target your site and would try to harm you.

In this tutorial, I'm going to write down the methods that are used to harm the competitors. They can be used to decrease the ranking of your competitors. For example, if you're ranking in Top 5 results, you might like to screw your competitors over but remember, you should never practice such methods because they are not only blackhat but unethical too. This post is for educational purpose only.

Using Low-Quality Backlinks To Cause Negative Effect:

As we've discussed everything in previous tutorials, low-quality backlinks can affect your SEO ranking negatively and you may lose the ranking very easily because of them. If you are not following the previous tutorials, then let me define what is a low-quality backlink.

A backlink is considered low-quality backlink when it comes from the link directories and irrelevant sites that are not related to your niche. A backlink from sites that are spammed to death and banned from Google index will definitely impact negatively to your site's ranking.

Your competitor may use such strategies to decrease your site ranking and if the matter gets serious, you might even face penalties from Google (except when your brand is popular enough to prove that someone is trying to harm you on purpose).

Backlinks From Blacklisted PBN Networks:

Google is uncovering the PBN networks and blacklisting them every day because SEO optimizers are using PBN strategy to rank spam content at the first page of Google and we already know that Google is working hard to ensure the best user experience.

Generating a backlink from blacklisted PBN networks is a no-brainer option to impact your site's ranking negatively for a competitor. Such attempts are very dangerous because they put you at the risk of de-indexation of your site because Google may assume that you knowingly bought the links from PBN networks to increase ranking.

You need to take action immediately:

Whenever you discover that someone tried to produce a backlink without your consent and the backlink is likely to cause damage to your site, then it is advisable to report Google about it and tell them that you didn't generate that backlink and someone is trying to harm you.

Also, contact the sites' owners and request them to remove your backlink from there. This is the best option or else your site will come in the checklist of Google and it may not be a good thing because if someday you want to use your own PBN network to rank your site, it can become easy for Google to uncover your network and penalize your site.
