RE: The Most Upsetting Consequence Of Social Media

in #self-help7 years ago

Hi there! I would like to point out your unfortunate tendency to generalize. Why would one generalize, it's so frustrating :))
"An echo chamber is a space in which we tend to hear or see or think only what we project. " - interesting idea, worth giving it some consideration. But then, here comes:
"We simply started to take for granted everything we read and hear and see in our tiny echo chambers." - nooooo, just no. Plenty of skeptics/cynics in cyberland too, not just in the real world - plenty of people who take everything with a grain (or heaps) of salt.
"In Buddhism, it’s called ego. In forex trading, it’s called greed. In plain English, it’s spelled as “self-entitlement”." - cool definition, I enjoyed reading it :)
"We constantly think and feel there’s nothing else in this entire consciousness stream than ourselves." - I think only simpletons - and very young children - would think that, but it's just my opinion.
"We’re just indulging in self-entitlement." - this balloon always pops, whether sooner or later.
"Truth is we’re all the same. We’re all just sharing the same confusion. We all hurt." Nope. Some of us enjoy our degree of personal madness :))))) Seriously now, we're not all the same, thank God.
"balancing Yin and Yang" - oh, yes.
"Try to see the basic stuff that you’re both sharing, while still being aware of the differences. It’s hard, isn’t it?" - I don't know about it being hard, however I have to say - it's fun and totally worth it.
